Abstract The human microbiome, a diverse ecosystem of microorganisms within the body, plays pivotal roles in health and disease. This review explores site-specific microbiomes, their role maintaining health, strategies for upkeep, focusing on oral, lung, vaginal, skin, gut microbiota, systemic connections. Understanding intricate relationships between these microbial communities is crucial unraveling mechanisms underlying health. Recent research highlights bidirectional communication distant microbiome sites, influencing immune function, metabolism, disease susceptibility. Alterations one can impact others, emphasizing interconnectedness collective influence physiology. therapeutic potential microbiota modulating microbiomes offers promising avenues interventions targeting various disorders. Through interdisciplinary collaboration technological advancements, we harness power to revolutionize healthcare, microbiome-centric approaches promote holistic well-being while identifying areas future research.

This narrative review synthesizes current evidence regarding anti-inflammatory dietary patterns and their potential benefits for individuals with mental disorders neurodegenerative diseases. Chronic low-grade inflammation is increasingly recognized as a key factor in the etiology progression of these conditions. The examines neuroprotective properties components food groups, focusing on whole foods rather than specific nutrients or supplements. Key showing include fruits vegetables (especially berries leafy greens), grains, legumes, fatty fish rich omega-3, nuts (particularly walnuts), olive oil, fermented foods. These are generally antioxidants, fiber, bioactive compounds that may help modulate inflammation, support gut health, promote neuroprotection. Conversely, ultra-processed foods, red meat, sugary beverages be harmful. Based this evidence, we designed Brain Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition (BrAIN) diet. mechanisms diet modulation microbiota gut-brain axis, regulation inflammatory pathways, reduction oxidative stress, promotion neuroplasticity. BrAIN shows promise an aid to manage disorders.

Sleep disorders are becoming increasingly common, and their distinct effects on physical mental health require elaborate investigation. Gut dysbiosis (GD) has been reported in sleep-related disorders, but sleep apnoea is of particular significance because its higher prevalence chronicity. Cumulative evidence suggested a link between GD. This review highlights the gut-brain communication axis that mediated via commensal microbes various microbiota-derived metabolites (e.g. short-chain fatty acids, lipopolysaccharide trimethyl amine N-oxide), neurotransmitters γ-aminobutyric acid, serotonin, glutamate dopamine), immune cells inflammatory mediators, as well vagus nerve hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. also discusses pathological role underpinning GD altered gut bacterial populations related comorbid conditions, particularly cognitive dysfunction. In addition, examines preclinical clinical evidence, which suggests prebiotics probiotics may potentially be beneficial comorbidities through restoration eubiosis or microbial homeostasis regulates neural, metabolic responses, physiological barrier integrity

The composition of the human gut microbiome varies tremendously among individuals, making effects dietary or treatment interventions difficult to detect and characterize. consumption fiber is important for health, yet specific increased intake on vary across studies. variation in study outcomes might be due inter-individual (or inter-population) details including types fiber, length study, size cohort, molecular approaches. Thus, identify generally (on average) consistent fiber-induced responses healthy we re-analyzed 16S rRNA sequencing data from 21 12 studies, which included 2,564 fecal samples 538 subjects all interventions. Short-term increases resulted highly bacterial community Increased explained an average 1.5% compositional (vs 82% attributed individual), reduced alpha-diversity, phylogenetically conserved relative abundances taxa. Additionally, identified clades, at approximately genus level, that were their response average, increasing decreasing abundance)

Breast cancer (BC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide and a leading cause cancer-related deaths among women. The escalating incidence BC underscores necessity multi-level treatment. complex heterogeneous disease involving many genetic, lifestyle, environmental factors. Growing evidence suggests that nutrition intervention an evolving effective prevention treatment strategy for BC. In addition, human microbiota, particularly gut now widely recognized as significant player contributing to health or status. It also associated with risk development This review will focus on in BC, including dietary patterns, bioactive compounds, nutrients affect therapeutic responses both animal studies.
