Background: Quorum sensing (QS) is a cell-to-cell communication mechanism that occurs between inter- and intra-bacterial species regulated by signaling molecules called autoinducers (AIs). It has been suggested probiotics can exert QS inhibitory effect through their metabolites. Purpose: To provide an overview of (1) the anti-QS activity its against foodborne pathogenic spoilage bacteria; (2) potential role in gut health; (3) impact microencapsulation on QS. Results: Lactobacillus have extensively studied for found to effectively disrupt vitro. However, effectiveness food matrix yet be determined as they interfere with AI receptor or synthesis. plays important both biofilm formation bacteria. Moreover, vitro animal studies shown modulate cytokine responses dysbiosis maintain intestinal barrier function. In this scenario, was enhance activity. underlying remains unclear. Conclusions: Probiotics are candidates block Microencapsulation increases efficacy. more research still needed identification metabolites from elucidation (microcapsules free cells) human gut.

Abstract Sharing of genetic elements among different pathogens and commensals inhabiting same hosts environments has significant implications for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), especially in settings with high exposure. We analysed 661 Escherichia coli Salmonella enterica isolates collected within across environments, 10 Chinese chicken farms over 2.5 years using data-mining methods. Most possessed the clinically relevant AMR-carrying mobile (plasmids: 70.6%, transposons: 78%), which also showed recent common evolution. Supervised machine learning classifiers revealed known novel AMR-associated mutations genes underlying to 28 antimicrobials, primarily associated E. susceptibility S. . Many were essential affected metabolic processes both species, albeit varying degrees phylogenetic penetration. Multi-modal strategies are crucial investigate interplay mobilome, metabolism cohabiting bacteria, ecological where community-driven selection occurs.

Abstract Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic bacterium causing several health problems and having many virulence factors like biofilm formation on different surfaces. There a significant need to develop new antimicrobials due the spreading resistance commonly used antibiotics, partly attributed formation. Consequently, this study aimed investigate anti-biofilm anti-quorum sensing activities of Dioon spinulosum, Dyer Ex Eichler extract (DSE), against clinical isolates. DSE exhibited reduction in by P. isolates both vitro vivo rat models. It also resulted decrease cell surface hydrophobicity exopolysaccharide quantity Both bright field scanning electron microscopes provided evidence for inhibiting ability Moreover, it reduced violacein production Chromobacterium violaceum (ATCC 12,472). decreased relative expression 4 quorum genes ( las I, R, rhl R) gene ndv B) using qRT-PCR. Furthermore, presented cytotoxic activity with IC 50 4.36 ± 0.52 µg/ml human skin fibroblast lines. For first time, reports that promising resource agents.
