The persistence of the global COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus has continued to emphasize need for point-of-care (POC) diagnostic tests viral diagnosis. most widely used tests, lateral flow assays in rapid antigen and reverse-transcriptase real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), have been instrumental mitigating impact new waves pandemic, but fail provide both sensitive readout patients. Here, we present a portable lens-free imaging system coupled with particle agglutination assay as novel biosensor SARS-CoV-2. This sensor images quantifies individual microbeads undergoing through combination computational deep learning way detect levels complex sample. pseudovirus solution is incubated acetyl cholinesterase 2 (ACE2)-functionalized then loaded into an inexpensive chip. sample imaged in-line holographic microscope image reconstructed from pixel superresolved hologram. Images are analyzed deep-learning algorithm that distinguishes microbead cell debris aggregates, quantified based on network output. We propose procedure using two which results accurate determination concentrations greater than limit detection (LOD) 1.27 × 10

The Lateral Flow Immunoassay (LFIA) is by far one of the most successful analytical platforms to perform on-site detection target substances. LFIA can be considered as a sort lab-in-a-hand and, together with other point-of-need tests, has represented paradigm shift from sample-to-lab lab-to-sample aiming improve decision making and turnaround time. features LFIAs made them very attractive tool in clinical diagnostic where they patient care enabling more prompt diagnosis treatment decisions. rapidity, simplicity, relative cost-effectiveness, possibility used nonskilled personnel contributed wide acceptance LFIAs. As consequence, molecules, organisms, (bio)markers for purposes, application been rapidly extended fields, including food feed safety, veterinary medicine, environmental control, many others. This review aims provide readers 10-years overview applications, outlining trends main fields compounded annual growth rates. Moreover, future perspectives challenges are discussed.

The development of reliable and robust diagnostic tests is one the most efficient methods to limit spread coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). However, laboratory diagnostics for COVID-19, such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), are expensive, time-consuming, require highly trained professional operators. On other hand, lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) a simpler, cheaper device that can be operated unskilled personnel easily. Unfortunately, current technique has some limitations, mainly inaccuracy in detection. This review article aims highlight recent advances novel technologies detecting SARS-CoV-2 well innovative approaches achieve sensitive specific point-of-care testing. Lastly, we discuss future perspectives on how smartphones Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrated revolutionize detection control surveillance.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causal agent of COVID-19, is considered a pathogen animal origin that mainly transmitted from human to human. Several species can be naturally or experimentally infected by SARS-CoV-2, with compelling evidence mink highly susceptible SARS-CoV-2 infection. Human-to-mink infection cases have been reported and there are also suggestions mink-to-human occurs. Mink infections date only on fur farms, except for one free- ranging wild near Utah (USA) farm, which suggests transmission pathway farms mink. We now report detection in 13 feral dark brown American (

Field-effect transistor (FET) biosensors have been intensively researched toward label-free biomolecule sensing for different disease screening applications. High sensitivity, incredible miniaturization capability, promising extremely low minimum limit of detection (LoD) at the molecular level, integration with complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology and last but not least operation were amongst predominant motives highlighting these sensors in biosensor community. Although there are various diseases targeted by FET detection, infectious still most demanding sector that needs higher precision realization diagnosis point care (PoC). The COVID-19 pandemic, nevertheless, was an example escalated situation terms worldwide desperate need fast, specific reliable home test PoC devices timely huge numbers people to restrict from further spread. This spawned a wave innovative approaches early antibodies human swab or blood which biosensing gained much more attention due their extraordinary LoD down femtomolar (fM) comparatively faster response time. As novel application especially diseases, this research, we reviewed recent progress on developing accompanied thorough discussion structure Chem/BioFET readout circuitry output signal processing. approach would help engineers biologists gain enough knowledge initiate design accelerated innovations efficient management like COVID-19.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused a large global outbreak. It is accordingly important to develop accurate and rapid diagnostic methods. polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based method including reverse transcription-polymerase (RT-PCR) the most widely used assay for detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. Along with RT-PCR method, digital PCR emerged as powerful tool quantify nucleic acid virus high accuracy sensitivity. Non-PCR based techniques such transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) recombinase (RT-RPA) are considered be simple methods were reviewed in this paper. Non-conventional molecular next-generation sequencing (NGS), CRISPR-based assays nanotechnology improving sensitivity COVID-19 diagnosis. In review, we also focus on standardization testing activity National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) highlight resources reference materials (RM) that provide values specified properties. Finally, summarize useful convenient diagnostics.
