Introdução: A resistência microbiana, resultado do uso indevido de antibióticos, é reconhecida como uma das principais ameaças à saúde global. falta opções terapêuticas eficazes e o aumento ônus financeiro são consequências preocupantes. terapia fotodinâmica antimicrobiana (aPDT) surge alternativa promissora aos antibióticos. Dentre os fotossensibilizadores utilizados, origem natural se destacam devido a sua eficiência baixa toxicidade. Objetivo: Apresentar um panorama recente aplicação no combate infecções bacterianas. Método: Revisão literatura com abordagem qualitativa, realizada por meio levantamento bibliográfico na plataforma Web of Science ano 2022 seguinte descritor: photosensitizer. Resultados Discussão: Os estudos analisados exploraram naturais para fotoinativação micro-organismos patogênicos. Diversos foram reportados (riboflavina, clorofilina, curcumina), bem nanoplataformas nanopartículas aumentar eficácia dos tratamentos. resultados obtidos promissores, demonstrando aPDT ferramenta antimicrobina capacidade fotoinativar bactérias, inclusive aquelas resistentes antibióticos convencionais. Conclusão: (curcumina, clorina e6, riboflavina, entre outros) apresentam excelente biocompatibilidade contra vasta família microrganismos Além disso, salientamos necessidade da transposição laboratoriais prática clínica.

Owing to their long absorption wavelengths, high molar absorptivity, and tunable photosensitivity, phthalocyanines have been widely used in photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, still face the drawbacks of poor targeting, "always-on" photosensitizing properties, unsatisfactory therapeutic efficiency, which limit wide applications biomedical fields. Thus, new design strategies such as modification targeting molecules, formation nanoparticles, activating photosensitizers are developed improve above defects. Notably, recent studies shown that novel not only fluorescence imaging PDT, but also photoacoustic imaging, photothermal sonodynamic therapy, therapy. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) presents an escalating global challenge as conventional antibiotic treatments become less effective. In response, photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal (PTT) have emerged promising alternatives. While rooted in ancient practices, these methods evolved with modern innovations, particularly through the integration of lasers, refining their efficacy. PDT harnesses photosensitizers to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are detrimental microbial cells, whereas PTT relies on heat induce cellular damage. The key effectiveness lies utilization photosensitizers, especially when integrated into nano- or micron-scale supports, amplify ROS production enhance antimicrobial activity. The photoreactions of selected styrylpyridine derivatives to the corresponding benzo[ c ]quinolizinium ions are described.
