Abstract Salvia , a widely recognized genus globally esteemed for its traditional and medicinal applications, prompted our investigation into the methanol water extracts of eight species native to Turkey. These included S. aucheri, candidissima, divaricata, virgata, multicaulis, palestina, trichoclada cerino‐pruinosa . Our study aimed assess their biological properties chemical composition. Utilizing HPLC‐ESI‐Q‐TOF‐MS, we identified constituents in extracts, while antioxidant (radical quenching, reducing power, metal chelating) enzyme inhibitory (amylase, glucosidase, tyrosinase, cholinesterase) activities were evaluated activities. One hundred thirty‐one compounds characterized tested extracts. Although many belonging different families identified, main all rosmarinic sagerinic acids, along with several salvianolic acid isomers. Notably, displayed superior overall, exhibiting highest activity among them, except chelating. Similar test results, more active than inhibition tests. Multivariate analysis further highlighted distinctiveness extract In conclusion, findings underscore biopharmaceutical potential species, suggesting significance as sources bioactive agents health‐promoting applications.

Species belonging to the Zingiberaceae family are of high nutritional, industrial, and medicinal values. In this study, we investigated effect processing steps (fresh vs. dried milled rhizomes) extraction methodologies (hydrodistillation hexane extraction) curcuma essential oil on its chemical content (using GC-MS analysis), antioxidant behavior in vitro assays such as DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC, FRAP, phosphomolybdenum, metal chelation), enzyme inhibitory activities (on tyrosinase, acetylcholinesterase, butylcholinesterase, α-amylase, α-glucosidase) supported by multivariate analysis, silico studies, molecular dynamics. The investigations revealed a degree similarity profile fresh hydrodistilled hexane-extracted oils with tumerone curlone being major metabolites. techniques affected concentrations other minor constituents terpinolene, caryophylla-4(12), 8(13)-dien-5α-ol, neo-intermedeol, which were almost exclusively detected oil; however, zingiberene β-sesquiphellandrene predominant oil. rhizomes, contents significantly reduced, former only while latter was doubly concentrated hexane-derived Constituents D-limonene caryophyllene oxide represented ca. 29% oil, ar-turmerone oils, representing 16% 26% composition, respectively. These variations have subsequently properties activities. showed that hydrophobic interactions hydrogen bonding characteristic binding modes bioactive metabolites their respective targets. Molecular dynamics stability ligand-target complex over time. From current study conclude best radical scavenging properties, rhizomes general display better activity regardless technique.

Plants from the Nepeta genus have been proved to possess different pharmacological properties, among which are antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and cytotoxic effects. italica is a medicinal plant traditionally used for its analgesic effects, in present study, phytochemical composition biological effects of hexane, dichloromethane (DCM), ethyl acetate (EA), ethanol, ethanol-water, water extracts aerial parts were investigated determining phenolic composition, antioxidant anti-inflammatory isolated mouse colon specimens exposed lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Polar richest terms compounds, especially rosmarinic acid. In parallel, also most effective as scavenging/reducing enzyme inhibition agents, towards cholinesterases α-glucosidase, inhibiting LPS-induced cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) gene expression colon. This poses basis future vivo investigations confirming protective polar N. against inflammatory bowel diseases.

Generally, there are scant data about the constituents and eventually biological activity of essential oils (EOs) from aromatic plants that grow naturally in Sudan. The present study aimed to determine chemical composition, antioxidant enzyme inhibitory activities EO extracted fruit Chamaecyparis obtusa (Siebold Zucc.) Endl. (family Cupressaceae), root Chrysopogon nigritanus (Benth.) Veldkampis Poaceae) aerial part Lavandula coronopifolia Poir Lamiaceae). C. contained only monoterpenes, mainly hydrogenated ones, with α-pinene (69.07%) as major component. Oxygenated sesquiterpenes comprised highest content cedr-8-en-15-ol (28.69%) constituent while parts L. both monoterpenes oxygenated monoterpene lavandulol (26.56%) dominant compounds. significantly displayed (p < 0.05) anti-DPPH radical, Fe3+- Cu2+-reducing metal-chelating activities, exerted best anti-ABTS radical total activity. two EOs exhibited anti-acetylcholinesterase -butyrylcholinesterase respectively, was oil show a considerable effect against tyrosinase α-glucosidase enzymes. In conclusion, these three could be natural agents promising functional properties for food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical applications.

The DCM were then subjected to specific method for their incorporation into β-cyclodextrin (β-CD). establishment complex formation was validated through utilization scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). identification phytochemical components executed UHPLC-HRMS. Furthermore, total phenolic flavonoid content evaluated Folin-Ciocalteu assay AlCl3 method. Subsequently, determination antioxidant capacity conducted utilizing DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC, Frap, PBD, MCA assays. enzyme inhibitory activities samples (extracts β-CD complexes) also examined by AChE, BChE, tyrosinase, α-glucosidase, α-amylase. findings indicated that water ethanol contained highest content. One hundred fourteen bioactive compounds identified UHPLC-HRMS analysis. This study unveiled substantial array flavonoids, acid-hexosides caffeoylhexaric acids within I. sarana, marking initial in context. Among various tested, extract stood out due its high (jaceosidin, cirsiliol, eupatilin) hydroxybenzoic hydroxycinnamic acid hexosides. displayed notably enhanced activity, with FRAP test values 106.50 mg TE/g dry extract, 224.31 110.40 TE/g, respectively. However, generally lower than those pure extracts, an observation warranting significant consideration. In terms inhibition exhibited higher effects on α-glucosidase. Conversely, n-hexane stronger activity against BChE. acetate demonstrated elevated amylase activity. noteworthy observation, while minimal or negatable enzymes.
