Flavonoids are the most abundant functional compounds distributed in higher plants, and used as important dietary components for human health protection. The development of natural flavonoids, such food or medicinal food, has received extensive attention recent years. extraction, separation, quantitation flavonoids key techniques utilization flavonoid resources. traditional methods extraction separation always toxic solvents, which produce residues pollute environment. Based on an analysis literature resources, utilization, quantitation, green were summarized. First, by hot water ethanol, assisted pressurization microwave-ultrasonication, then concentration precipitation cool ethanol ethanol/water specific ratios. This method could obtain over 85% purity first cycle 95% after three cycles commonly dihydromyricetin, rutin, quercetin. In conclusion, showed great prospects protection disease treatment. Chemical structure-based using water–ethanol with pressurization, temperature regulation proved to be efficient environmentally friendly, showing potential industry. These “green” processing mechanisms deserve further research.

Polyphenols (PPs) are recognized as bioactive compounds and antimicrobial agents, playing a critical role in enhancing food safety, preservation, extending shelf life. The effectiveness of PPs has different molecular biological reasons, predominantly linked to their hydroxyl groups electron delocalization, which interact with microbial cell membranes, proteins, organelles. These interactions may reduce the efficiency metabolic pathways, cause destructive damage membrane, or they harm proteins nucleic acids foodborne bacteria. Moreover, exhibit distinctive ability form complexes metal ions, further amplifying activity. This narrative review explores complex multifaceted between pathogens, underlying correlation chemical structures mechanisms action. Such insights shed light on potential innovative natural preservatives within systems, presenting an eco-friendly sustainable alternative synthetic additives.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), also known as VEGF-A, has been linked to various diseases, such wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) and cancer. Even though there are VEGF inhibitors that currently commercially available in clinical applications, severe adverse effects have associated with these treatments. There is still a need develop novel VEGF-based therapeutics against VEGF-related diseases. Here, we established series of computational docking analyses cell models, wound healing assay HaCaT cells an evaluation NF-κB performance macrophages, screen large library flavonoid-type phytochemicals. Three flavonoids, namely, farrerol, ononin (-)-epicatechin, were shown express binding affinities protein inhibit VEGF-mediated biological activities. The investigation evidently suggested the three flavonoids above could be considered potential anti-VEGF agents for following drug development

Ovarian cancer is a leading cause of mortality among women with gynecological malignancies, largely due to its asymptomatic nature in early stages and frequent late diagnosis. Targeted therapies, such as angiogenesis inhibitors poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARPi), have emerged promising treatments by disrupting tumor vasculature impairing DNA repair mechanisms, particularly patients BRCA mutations. The objective the present study was comprehensively evaluate combined use different PARPi ovarian treatment meta-analysis. This included assessing their impact on response rate (ORR) progression-free survival (PFS), understanding role mutation status, comparing effects various when used combination PARPi. PubMed, Embase Cochrane databases were searched from inception February 2024. Only studies included. Duplicate studies, incomplete data, animal literature reviews systematic excluded. results underscored noteworthy improvement ORR median PFS (mPFS) receiving therapy compared those monotherapy. Specifically, pooled for significantly higher than that monotherapy, indicating substantial benefit terms response. Furthermore, found prolong PFS, offering longer duration without disease progression. Subgroup analyses treated provided deeper insights, revealing mutations exhibited an 90% 61% Additionally, compared, anti-VEGF agents showed mPFS (15.53 months) TKIs (7.49 months). In conclusion, demonstrates combinations show great potential improving outcomes cancer, observed differences efficacy between highlight importance personalized approaches. Further research warranted explore long-term benefits these strategies refine them obtain optimal patient outcomes.
