Abstract This systematic review was designed to determine the clinical efficacy and safety of curcumin supplementation for pediatric patients based on trials in children. We systematically searched electronic databases including PubMed, EMBASE, Web Science, Scopus all studies that investigated administration population without any time frame limitation. Finally, we identified 16 this review. Clinical were assessed children with inflammatory immune disorders (including asthma, bowel disease (IBD), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)), metabolic disorders, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney (ADPKD), cystic fibrosis (CF), tetralogy Fallot (TOF), infectious diseases. Curcumin administered a wide range doses (45 mg–4,000 mg daily) durations (2–48 weeks). Overall, well tolerated improved severity However, more are needed clarify role among ADPKD, CF, TOF, Because substantial heterogeneity methodological quality, design, outcomes, dose, duration intake, formulations, study populations across studies, no quantitative analysis performed. Additional large‐scale, randomized, placebo‐controlled confirm results conducted studies.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) subjects suffer from high risk of cardiovascular mortality, and any intervention preventing the progression CKD may have an enormous impact on public health. In last decade, there has been growing awareness that gut microbiota (GM) can play a pivotal role in controlling pathogenesis systemic inflammatory state progression. To ameliorate quality life subjects, use dietary supplements increased over time. Among those, curcumin demonstrated significant vitro anti-inflammatory properties. this pilot study, 24 patients 20 healthy volunteers were recruited. followed nutritional counselling supplemented with (Meriva®) for six months. Different parameters evaluated at baseline after 3–6 months: uremic toxins, metagenomic GM, nutritional, inflammatory, oxidative status. Curcumin significantly reduced plasma pro-inflammatory mediators (CCL-2, IFN-γ, IL-4) lipid peroxidation. Regarding 6 months supplementation, Escherichia-Shigella was lower, while Lachnoclostridium higher. Notably, family level, Lactobacillaceae spp. found higher 3 supplementation. No adverse events observed group, confirming good safety profile phytosome long-term administration.

Diabetes is a metabolic disease with multifactorial causes which requires lifelong drug therapy as well lifestyle changes. There now growing scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of use herbal supplements in prevention and control diabetes. Curcumin one most studied bioactive components traditional medicine, but its physicochemical characteristics are represented by low solubility, poor absorption, efficacy. Nanotechnology-based pharmaceutical formulations can help overcome problems reduced bioavailability curcumin increase antidiabetic effects. The objectives this review were effects nanocurcumin on DM search for databases such PubMed/MEDLINE ScienceDirect. results showed that activity due complex pharmacological mechanisms reducing characteristic hyperglycemia DM. In light these results, may be considered potential agent pharmacotherapeutic management patients

Obesity is a global health problem needing urgent research. Synthetic anti-obesity drugs show side effects and variable effectiveness. Thus, there tendency to use natural compounds for the management of obesity. There considerable body knowledge, supported by rigorous experimental data, that polyphenols, including curcumin, can be an effective safer alternative managing Curcumin important compound present in Curcuma longa L. rhizome. It lipophilic molecule rapidly permeates cell membrane. has been used as pharmacological traditional medicinal agent Ayurvedic medicine ∼6000 years. This plant metabolite doubtless effectiveness reported through increasingly detailed vitro, vivo clinical trials. Regarding its biological effects, multiple health-promoting, disease-preventing even treatment attributes have remarkably highlighted. review documents status research on mechanisms evaluates curcumin summarizes different action, associated with enzymes, energy expenditure, adipocyte differentiation, lipid metabolism, gut microbiota anti-inflammatory potential curcumin. However, still need systematic targeted studies before mainstream therapy
