Each individual has a unique gut microbiota; therefore, the genes in our microbiome outnumber genome by about 150 to 1. Perturbation host nutritional status influences composition and vice versa. The can help producing vitamins, hormones, other active metabolites that support immune system; harvest energy from food; aid digestion; protect against pathogens; improve transit function; send signals brain organs; oscillate circadian rhythm; coordinate with metabolism through multiple cellular pathways. Gut microbiota be influenced genetics, medications, diet, lifestyle factors preterm aging. Aligning precision nutrition, identifying personalized mandates provision of right nutrients at time patient. Thus, before prescribing treatment, it is crucial monitor count flora as focused biomarker. Many approaches have been developed maintaining restoring an optimal such specific diet therapy, nutrition interventions, customized eating patterns. One these time-restricted feeding/eating (TRF/E), type intermittent fasting (IF) which subject abstains food intake for window. Such dietary modification might alter restore proper alignment molecular pathways throughout lifespan. In this review, we highlighted would targeted biomarker TRF/E approach gut-microbiome-associated hormonal signaling, system, metabolic regulators, neural responses, immune-inflammatory Consequently, modulation could contribute utilization availability way confer protection diseases harnessing human health.

Worldwide, almost 10 million cancer deaths occurred in 2022, a number that is expected to rise 16.3 by 2040. Primary prevention has long been acknowledged as crucial approach reducing incidence. In fact, between 30 and 50 percent of all tumors are known be preventable eating healthy diet, staying active, avoiding alcohol, smoking, being overweight. Accordingly, many international organizations have created tumor guidelines, which underlie the importance following diet emphasizes plant-based foods while minimizing consumption red/processed meat, sugars, processed foods, alcohol. However, further research needed define relationship effect specific diets or nutritional components on prevention. Interestingly, reductions food intake dietetic restrictions can extend lifespan yeast, nematodes, flies, rodents. Despite controversial results humans, those approaches potential ameliorate health via direct indirect effects signaling pathways involved onset. Here, we describe latest knowledge cancer-preventive dietary biochemical processes involved. Molecular, preclinical, clinical studies evaluating different fasting strategies will also reviewed.

Time-restricted feeding (TRF) and Ramadan fasting (RF) have been recently associated with several health outcomes. However, it is not yet clear if they are superior to existing treatments in terms of glucose metabolism, insulin action, weight loss. This review aims summarize the current data on effects these regimes body weight, composition, glycemia. An electronic search was conducted PUBMED SCOPUS databases up August 2022. Twenty-four records met inclusion criteria underwent a risk-of-bias assessment. The main outcomes were: (a) TRF may result moderate loss individuals overweight/obesity; when combined caloric restriction, >5% initial (b) 14 h be as effective 16 loss, (c) lead improved sensitivity glycemic responses/variability throughout day overweight/obesity. Concerning RF, only two studies were available thus, conclusions drawn. an nutritional approach for amelioration control more long-term, well-designed needed.

Intermittent fasting (IF), time-restricted eating (TRE) and fasting-mimicking diets (FMD) are gaining popularity as weight loss programs. As such, the timing frequency of meals have been recognized essential contributors to improving cardiometabolic health a role adjuvant therapy in cancer. Randomized controlled trials suggested that associated with IF is due reduced energy intake time restriction. Although supervised TRE clinical documented dietary caloric intake, many free-living studies focused on without complete characterization density, or macronutrient composition. It possible both caloric-restriction time-restriction protocols could work synergistically additively improve metabolic outcomes. Like personalized medicine, achieving precision nutrition mandates provision right nutrients patient at time. To accomplish this goal, future need evaluate benefits TRE. were conducted different populations, ethnic groups, ages, geographic distribution, physical activity levels, body composition patients obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases. Early time-restricted eating (eTRE) improves aspects of cardiometabolic health. Although the circadian system appears to regulate nutrient absorption, little is known about effects eTRE on intestinal absorption. In this randomized crossover trial, 16 healthy adults follow a controlled, weight maintenance diet for 9 days, consuming all calories between 0800 and 1400 (eTRE schedule) or 2000 (control schedule). We measure energy content diet, stool, urine with bomb calorimetry calculate The schedule more effective than control improving markers health, including 24-h mean glucose concentrations glycemic variability, assessed as amplitude excursions. However, has no effect macronutrient gastrointestinal transit time, colonic hydrogen gas production, stool microbial composition, suggesting does not impact function. This trial registered (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04877262).

Time-restricted feeding (TRF) has become a popular weight loss method in recent years. It is widely used the nutritional treatment of normal obese people and with chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus hypertension, shown many benefits. However, most TRF studies have excluded kidney disease (CKD) patients, resulting lack sufficient evidence-based practice for efficacy safety therapy CKD. Therefore, we explore overweight patients moderate-to-severe stage CKD through this pilot study, observe patient compliance to assess feasibility therapy. This prospective, non-randomized controlled short-term clinical trial. We recruited stages 3-4 from an outpatient clinic assigned them either group or control diet (CD) according their preferences. Changes renal function, other biochemical data, anthropometric parameters, gut microbiota, adverse events were measured before intervention after 12 weeks. The change estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) (Δ = 3.1 ± 5.3 ml/min/1.73m2) showed significant improvement compared CD -0.8 4.4 ml/min/1.73m2). Furthermore, had decrease uric acid -70.8 124.2 μmol/L), but increase total protein 1.7 2.5 g/L), while changes inconsistent inflammatory factors. In addition, body -2.8 2.9 kg) group, composition indicated same fat mass, free mass water. Additionally, shifted microbiota positive direction.Preliminary suggest that needs, who under strict medical supervision by healthcare professionals, performed good compliance. They did so without apparent events, protecting function. These results may be due alterations microbiota.

Intermittent fasting (IF) has been promoted as an alternative to dietary caloric restriction for the treatment of obesity. IF restricts amount food consumed and improves metabolic balance by synchronizing it with circadian rhythm. Dietary changes have a rapid effect on gut microbiota, modulating interaction between meal timing host rhythms. Our paper aims review relationships human microbiota. In this study, primary area focus was diversity composition microbiota its relationship weight loss metabolomic alterations, which are particularly significant syndrome characteristics. We discussed each these findings according type involved, i.e., time-restricted feeding, Ramadan fasting, alternate-day 5:2 diet. Favorable effects regarding reciprocity also highlighted. conclusion, may enhance health modifying However additional research is required draw definitive conclusions about outcome because limited number diverse designs existing studies.
