The olive oil sector is a fundamental food in the Mediterranean diet. It has been demonstrated that consumption of extra virgin (EVOO) with high content phenolic compounds beneficial prevention and/or treatment many diseases. main objective this work was to study relationship between and vitro neuroprotective anti-inflammatory activity EVOOs from two PDOs province Granada. To purpose, amounts were determined by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS) inhibitory acetylcholinesterase (AChE) cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes spectrophotometric fluorimetric assays. families identified alcohols, secoiridoids, lignans, flavonoids, acids. EVOO samples highest total concentration belonged Picual Manzanillo varieties. Statistical analysis showed positive correlation AChE COX-2 activity, except for lignans. These results confirm EVOO’s possess potential.

Neuropharmacology faces challenges due to the intricate nervous system, diverse neurological disorders, and existence of blood–brain barrier (BBB), which hinder development effective treatments. Although primary function BBB is expel toxins pathogens, this structure also prevents optimal drug delivery. Natural products, with their chemical diversity sustainability, have long been recognized as potential neuroprotective compounds, making permeability studies mandatory. Over last ten years, biotechnological advances in two-dimensional vitro models (monoculture co-culture), vivo imaging techniques, pharmacokinetic modeling contributed expanding our current knowledge. In study, we reviewed crossing natural products such different terpenoids, polyphenolic alkaloids. The findings, obtained through vitro, vivo, silico methods, revealed moderate high for many these products. However, other compounds showed not be able reach brain. The search for neuroprotective compounds in lavender is driven by its traditional use brain health, with antioxidant activity serving as a key mechanism reducing oxidative stress and supporting cognitive function. Lavender’s potential to protect neurons based on calming, anti-stress properties, which increase the brain’s resistance neurodegeneration. Although not medicinal plant Ukraine, it increasingly recognised properties widely cultivated country. Lavender Ukraine influenced both global herbal practices local medical traditions. aim of this study was optimise preparation herb extracts, perform chemical profiling evaluate their activities. focused Lavandula angustifolia Lviv, Ukraine. Modern analytical methods were used, including HPLC, spectrophotometry, molecular docking, lyophilisation pharmacological testing. selection optimal conditions obtaining extracts determined basis results total yield phenolic each extract, where found that raw material–solvent ratio (1:10) water 50% ethanol gave highest substances; preferred extraction time 20 min, temperature 60–70 °C, especially extraction. Further HPLC analysis identified marker rosmarinic acid (28.31 mg/g), chlorogenic (1.64 mg/g) luteolin (0.23 lyophilised previously markers docking. extract showed higher (total 50.85 activity, probably due synergistic interactions among components.
