BACKGROUND Catastrophic health expenditures (CHE) severely impact families, especially in the context of respiratory diseases and tuberculosis. This study evaluates determinants CHE construct nomogram prediction, with a focus on diverse impacts regional disparities income levels Guangdong Province, China, drawing from National Health Services Surveys (NHSS) conducted 2013 2023. OBJECTIVE To evaluate catastrophic among individuals tuberculosis using data 2023 Surveys, to develop validate nomograms for predicting while assessing roles disparities, levels, other socioeconomic factors. METHODS multi-year, cross-sectional utilized two NHSS Province. The population consists aged 15 years above or was defined as medical exceeding 40% non-food household expenditures. We employed stepwise logistic regression analyses identify developed Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves area under curve (AUC), calibration plots, decision analysis (DCA) predictive accuracy practical applicability models. Mediation assess age between occurrence CHE. RESULTS incidence relatively stable (13.5%) (13.6%). Significant risk factors included increasing [OR: 2.615 (1.681, 4.069)], having chronic 1.921 (1.177, 3.133)], living northern region 2.043 (1.204, 6.466)], insomnia almost every day 2.843 (1.345, 6.013)], protective higher 0.204 (0.046, 0.918)], being widowed divorce 0.120 (0.035, 0.415)] so on. mediation highlighted crucial mediator occurrence. Nomograms showed good ability areas (AUCs) ranging 0.844 0.884 training datasets across different survey showing excellent clinical benefits. CONCLUSIONS highlights significant effect status Income played pivotal role mediating these effects, emphasizing need targeted economic policies reduce burden offer tools CHE, aiding healthcare providers resource allocation decision-making.

Background Chronic gastrointestinal disorders, such as chronic constipation and diarrhea, pose significant public health challenges, affecting quality of life healthcare costs. Life’s Simple 7 (LS7), established by the American Heart Association, encompasses essential behaviors that may influence bowel health. Methods We utilized data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between 2005 2010, focusing on adults aged 20 years older. A total 12,912 participants were included in analysis. Bowel was assessed through self-reported questionnaires, while LS7 evaluated based seven components: smoking status, physical activity, dietary quality, BMI, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol. Survey-weighted logistic regression models employed to assess associations adjusting for various demographic health-related covariates. Results Our findings revealed a inverse association adherence prevalence (OR: 0.914, 95% CI: 0.864–0.966, p = 0.003) diarrhea 0.883, 0.856–0.912, < 0.0001). The protective effect more pronounced among males individuals with BMI under 30 kg/m 2 constipation, younger those without hypertension diarrhea. Restricted cubic spline analyses indicated dose–response relationship, particularly Conclusion This study highlights role promoting preventing Tailoring interventions characteristics enhance effectiveness strategies aimed at improving outcomes.

Abstract Overeating is a complex appetite trait, cross-sectionally linked to an elevated weight in children. However, little known about longitudinal associations. Therefore, we studied how tendency towards overeating predicts development between 8 and 16 years of age. In this study among 4517 children from the Finnish Health Teens cohort, parents reported their child’s overeat when were on average 11.2 (SD 0.8) old. Children then categorised as overeating, possibly or not overeating. Height measurements two data collection periods combined with growth national health register, age- sex-standardised body mass index z-scores (BMIz) calculated using International Obesity Task Force reference. also lifestyle factors, including food consumption, physical activity, screen time, sleep patterns. We examined association BMIz linear mixed model, adjusting for age, sex, specific consumption frequencies, duration. further analysed whether associations differed by activity. The group was 1.18 (95% CI 1.10─1.26) units higher compared those without but remained stable age increased. Among increased 0.043 per year ( p < 0.001). Physical modified interaction = 0.038). lowest third activity (≤ 5 h/week), 1.28 1.15─1.41) no group, while highest (≥ 9 h/week) effect size 1.08 0.93─1.24). conclusion, parent-reported exhibited elevated, mean across adolescence. Abstract Background Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is a musculoskeletal characterized by functional limitations and pain in the masticatory muscle temporomandibular joint. In adolescent, TMD can significantly impact mental health lead to psychosocial disabilities. This study aims investigate correlation between depression, as assessed Symptom-Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R) clinical factors adolescent patients with TMD. Methods included total of 185 adolescents (69 males, 116 females, mean age 15.15 ± 2.17) diagnosed November 2020 May 2023. Patients were categorized into three groups: 46 young aged 10-13, 78 middle 14-16, 61 older 17-18. Clinical data collected from medical records at patients’ initial visit. Depression was evaluated SCL-90-R. Results exhibited strong (rho=0.193, p=0.004). patients, depression scores associated stressful conditions (rho=0.347, p<0.0001), sleep problems (rho=0.249, p=0.001), dysfunction index (rho=0.243, presence tinnitus (rho=0.225, p=0.002), craniomandibular (rho=0.218, p=0.003), history trauma (rho=0.207, p=0.005), habitual irregular diet (rho=0.189, p=0.010). generalized linear model, most significant association aging (B=2.651, 95% CI: 0.363-4.940), followed clenching habits (B=1.433, 0.170-2.696), obsessive-compulsiveness (B=0.581, 0.427-0.735), somatization (B=0.246, 0.047-0.445). contrast, intensity, duration, joint noise not related (p>0.05). Limited information exists linking food habits, diet quality, and lifestyle scores with anthropometric indices happiness levels. Our aim was to examine the association between levels in Iranian population. This cross-sectional study included 200 students randomly selected from a university Iran. Dietary intakes, physical activity (PA), of participants were assessed using validated questionnaires. The examined this body shape index (ABSI), roundness (BRI), abdominal volume (AVI). Multiple logistic regression models used mean age mass (BMI) 23.5 years ± 4.52 23.8 kg/m2 3.17, respectively.
