Abstract
The
Benguela
upwelling
region
on
the
west
coast
of
South
Africa/Namibia
has
only
major
kelp
forests
African
continent.
Africa
four
species
laminarian
kelps;
Ecklonia
maxima
,
Laminaria
pallida
dominate
in
system,
with
Macrocystis
pyrifera
occurring
rarely
this
and
radiata
largely
confined
to
more
nutrient-poor
south
east
coasts.
Growth
studies
these
have
been
limited
laboratory
experiments
very
few
initial,
small-scale
coastal
studies.
As
other
Atlantic
regions,
there
is
growing
interest

for
aquaculture

Africa,

pilot
initiatives.

A
Mediterranean
diet
(MedDiet)
has
emerged
as
a
crucial
dietary
choice,
not
only
in
attenuating
various
adolescents’
metabolic
health
issues
but
it
also
been
associated
with
improved
cognitive
and
academic
achievement.
However,
few
studies
have
established
patterns
of
food
consumption
linked
to
both
achievement
adolescents
living
developing
country
non-Mediterranean-based
food.
Methods:

cross-sectional

1296
Chilean

10–14
