The field of oral drug delivery has witnessed significant advancements, with a focus on developing innovative formulations to address challenges associated traditional dosage forms, especially for patients difficulties in swallowing. Fast Dissolving Tablets (FDTs) have emerged as promising class tablets designed rapidly disintegrate or dissolve saliva, providing convenient and patient-friendly alternative various populations. This article explores the unique properties, advantages, potential applications FDTs, emphasizing their role overcoming posed by conventional systems. FDTs offer rapid dissolution within 15-120 seconds buccal cavity, facilitating direct absorption through mucosa ensuring quick therapeutic effects. characteristic proves particularly beneficial individuals facing swallowing challenges, such pediatric geriatric patients, those conditions like dysphagia. Recognizing significance European Pharmacopoeia (EP) officially recognized them "oral dissolving tablets," highlighting acceptance both academic industrial settings. delves into anatomical physiological characteristics shedding light epithelium, vascularization, salivary flow, which play crucial roles absorption. ideal features include disintegration, high load capacity, masking bitter taste, positive mouth feel, ease transport, reduced sensitivity environmental factors. advantages extend administration unable swallow, treatment bedridden mobile enhanced feel taste masking, administration, precise dosing. Despite come limitations, including issues related mechanical strength, hygroscopic nature, brittleness, drugs unpleasant odors. Overcoming these requires careful formulation approach balance disintegration strength masking. also discusses salient Dosage Forms (FDDDS) techniques preparing freeze-drying, tablet molding, spray drying. Additionally, it non-invasive systems addressing pharmaceutical industry needs, improving half-life, solubility/stability, bioavailability.

Fungal keratitis is an infectious disease caused by pathogenic fungi with a high blindness rate. Econazole (ECZ) imidazole antifungal drug insoluble ability. Econazole-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (E-SLNs) were prepared microemulsion method, then modified positive and negative charge. The mean diameter of cationic E-SLNs, nearly neutral E-SLNs anionic 18.73±0.14, 19.05±0.28, 18.54±0.10 nm respectively. Zeta potential these different charged SLNs formulations 19.13±0.89, -2.20±0.10, -27.40±0.67 mV Polydispersity Index (PDI) three kinds all about 0.2. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) analysis showed that the homogeneous system. Compared suspension (E-Susp), exhibited sustained release capability, stronger corneal penetration enhanced inhibition without irritation. ability was further improved after charge modification compared E-SLNs. Studies on pharmacokinetics order AUC t1/2 preparations > E-Susp in cornea aqueous humor. It shown could increase penetrability ocular bioavailability while capabilities ones.
