Abstract Rice blast is a detrimental disease widely prevalent in the world. Many predictive models have been developed for (RBD) different regions, but prediction modeling semi-arid areas less characterized. Here, we focused on developing model (DPM) rice based eight-year (2009–2016) environmental variables and their correlation with RBD severity data, followed by validation two-year (2017–2018) field trial data region of Pakistan. Besides analysis, implied multiple linear regression analysis. The DPM indicated that five maximum (Max) minimum (Min) temperature, rainfall (RF), relative humidity (RH) windspeed (WS), significantly contributed to development during eight years. obtained values standard statistical indicators, coefficient determination (R2) low error (SE) ≤ 10, significance F-distribution statistics proved effectiveness predicting Furthermore, criteria root-mean square (RMSE) (%) 8 year observed suggested striking closeness between old severity, indicating effective reliability both contexts. analysis showed (max min temps, RF, RH WS) could cause up 92% variability RBD. Except temp, which negative suggesting minor influence development, other four factors exhibited positive contributing development. helped us predict ranges factors, Max Min temp 40–42°C 22–24°C, RF 2-2.5 mm, 50–70%, WS 9–11 Km/h, favorable current prototype has potential practical application if combined weather system, be useful warning system zone Punjab appropriate time fungicidal sprays.

In order to analyze the physiological regulation mechanisms associated with exogenous melatonin on rice blast, this study treated seedlings different concentrations of (0, 20, 100, and 500 µmol/L) in investigate growth characteristics, root morphology, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, peroxidase (POD) catalase (CAT) malondialdehyde (MDA) content, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) soluble protein content seedlings. The results indicated that 100 µmol/L exhibited a significant effect, improving antioxidant capacity under blast fungus infection. disease resistance level against significantly decreased by 31.58% when compared 0 treatment, while plant height, stem base width, leaf area, total length, aboveground dry weight, fresh underground weight increased 8.72% 91.38%. Treatment activities respective increases 94.99% 31.14%. Simultaneously, contents decreased, reaching 18.65% 38.87%, respectively. gray relational grade analysis exhibit highest grades concentration and, so, can be used evaluate effect severity Furthermore, membership function revealed treatment had value, indicating improvement disease. conclusion, enhances through promoting their strengthening defenses. This provides new insights into tolerance

Rice is a vital component in the diets of many people worldwide, supplying necessary calories for subsistence. Nevertheless, yield this crucial agricultural crop consistently hindered by range biotic stresses. Out these, rice blast, claused mainly fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, poses significant menace to worldwide cultivation as well recent years. The consequences are particularly given current climate change challenges. In decades, substantial progress has been achieved development efficient ways manage blast disease. These procedures entail using variety genetic resources find, map, clone, and functionally validate individual resistance (R) genes quantitative trait loci (QTLs) that provide long-lasting Moreover, replication practical confirmation homologous avirulence (Avr) various M. oryzae strains have comprehending fundamental molecular mechanisms host–pathogen interactions. This article offers thorough examination cloning functional verification different R QTLs linked against complex interplay between R–Avr pairings, which contributes throughout wide range, thoroughly explained. Finally, study explores most next-generation sequencing (NGS) genome editing technologies (GETs), examining their potential uses improving treatment

The molecular marker method has come a long way in the last 30 years. Genetic research advanced from RFLPs to SNPs. Array technology was also used. Sequencing progress led creation of low-cost NGS systems with high throughput. Phenotyping been very important making this possible. Markers for crops like rice, corn, and potatoes have worked on, but markers that aren't used much haven't studied as much. Phylogenetics ecology are other areas don't know about markers. Plant breeding DNA modification greatly changed since recent improvements CRISPR technology. To contrary, some MAS (marker-assisted selection) methods need genome beforehand, which makes work even harder. Researchers plant science might find discussed review piece useful database. They could use them alone or sequence-level characters different fields.

Rice blast, caused by the fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae, is one of most devastating diseases affecting rice production worldwide, resulting in significant yield losses and threatening global food security. The severity particularly susceptible regions, underscores urgent need for available effective resistance strategies. In this study, six sets gene-specific molecular markers Pik locus associated with blast were developed based on publicly gene sequences. Experimental validation confirmed their high accuracy. During marker development process, a novel haplotype was identified. This characterized 14 bp mutations 9 insertion within coding sequence region when compared to Pikh allele. Subsequently, specific validated. application these seven analyze 163 japonica cultivars bred Yunnan Province between 1980 2020 revealed that 38.65% carry Piks allele, indicating low frequency against fungus under field conditions. contrast, only small proportion possess other alleles, which exhibit higher frequencies. These findings highlight limited utilization genes breeding Yunnan. Furthermore, 21.47% lack any aforementioned genetic diversity complexity resources Province.

ABSTRACT Blast and bacterial blight (BB) are the most dangerous rice diseases. We used marker‐assisted backcross breeding (MABB) to pyramid candidate resistant genes against these diseases, specifically Pi9 Pb1 for blast, Xa4 , xa13, Xa21 BB within genetic background of BRRI dhan89. ‐US2 as donor parent Pb1‐US2 IRBB58 xa13 genes. For this, triple crosses were made, F 1 BC 3 5 was produced by subsequent backcrossing, selfing foreground selection. The chi‐square evaluation phenotyping genotyping 300 2 individuals revealed heredity blast resistance inherited single‐gene principle Mendelian genetics. Finally, we selected best 23 fixed advance lines (ALs). Among them, 12 possessed all ( ), while 9 ALs consisted 4 disease rating varied from 0 both dhan89 had a ranging 7 9. G5, G6, G19, G4, G2, G11 G10 exhibited higher yield ha −1 (8.19, 8.16, 8.14, 8.02, 8.02 8.01 ton respectively) compared (7.26 ). Therefore, gene introgression MABB could effectively identify functionally validate with high accuracy develop durable, variety in programs.
