Despite growing recognition of nature-based solutions (NBS), there remains a research gap in understanding their implementation urban areas, which poses significant challenge for forest development. Therefore, our paper aims to explore the intersection NBS with forests (UF), identify current barriers, propose strategies maximize potential as (UF-NBS) effectively improving resilience forests, and enhance service capacity ecosystems. To achieve objective, we conducted comprehensive analysis that included bibliometric review summarize evolution UF-NBS literature classify types first time. Subsequently, identified organized challenges faced by UF-NBS. Additionally, proposed an original technological framework system development based on principles. The results show significance enhancing human wellbeing, multiple successful implementations both China Europe, validating effectiveness. However, faces several challenges, including inadequate financing, between scientific knowledge practical implementation, absence region-specific information, need interdisciplinary collaboration. This study contributes establishing theoretical basis integrating UF provides systematic approach decision-makers management. Future should focus exploring integration within prioritize sharing, international cooperation, education initiatives promote global adoption address pressing challenges.

Nature-based solutions (NBS) are gaining relevance as sustainable urban actions because of their potential to provide multiple benefits in the form ecosystem services (ES), and thus mitigate challenges. This paper presents an original semi-dynamic modelling framework that simultaneously considers i) ES supply demand dynamics, ii) negative environmental impacts, externalities, financial costs derived from NBS, iii) life cycle NBS impacts beyond use phase. Compared other models, it also aims be valuable for planning at site level, i.e., evaluating net specific projects. To validate framework, a proof-of-concept model forests is developed tested case study Madrid (Spain). The split two interrelated parts: foreground (dynamic modelling) background (static modelling). In foreground, phase project quantified considering its spatio-temporal dynamism, by making system dynamics. background, rest phases steady state impact assessment. economic project, both values eventually calculated encompassing all phases. Results illustrate how planning, design, management decisions over entire forest can influence performance this type NBS. Technological advances have played a critical role in the production of flower crops, enabling farmers to maximize yields and reduce losses while also improving quality flowers. These included development new breeding techniques, such as molecular marker-assisted breeding, use modern technologies like high-throughput phenotyping identify select superior cultivars. In addition, precision farming sensors remote monitoring systems, made it possible closely monitor crop growth optimize inputs water fertilizer, leading higher improved resource efficiency. Advancements biotechnology resulted transgenic plants that are resistant pests diseases, reducing need for chemical pesticides plant health. Modern genetic tools, particularly genome editing with CRISPR/Cas9 nucleases, emerging addition conventional approaches investigating these plants. Furthermore, novel growing hydroponics vertical farming, has allowed year-round controlled environments, mitigating challenges associated seasonal changes climate variability. innovations produce high-quality flowers urban areas, bringing fresh blooms closer consumers. Overall, technological crops revolutionized floriculture industry, growers more sustainable efficient manner. advancements not only productivity profitability but contributed conservation natural resources protection environment.

Buildings are responsible for a big part of total GHG emissions; therefore, their climate change mitigation potential is high. But research shows that actions in the sector can have significant social and economic values beyond reduction energy consumption associated emissions. This paper summarizes these multiple impacts buildings, which related to microeconomic macroeconomic effects, health impacts, environmental benefits, better management natural resources, on well-being, security implications, assesses interactions (synergies trade-offs) with UN SDGs. The findings our analysis show buildings enable achievement 4 SDGs, reinforce 7 others, inextricably linked 5 namely SDG3: good SDG7: affordable clean energy, SDG8: decent work growth, SDG11: sustainable cities communities, SDG13: action. On other hand, trade-offs were identified 9 rather minor be further eliminated implementation appropriate policies.

Provided that, if made in a sustainable way, urban planning contributes to sustainability and the welfare of populations, comparative applied studies have societal relevance addition scientific one. Nevertheless, while theoretical studies, including those comparative, are relatively well represented, there is scarcity based on practices. Our study fills this gap comparing Bucharest (Romania) Chisinau (Moldova) by their experience for green infrastructure using geospatial technologies data-driven approaches. The methodology integrates data-based comparisons between two cities (wherever possible) qualitative results comparison indicate that Bucharest, proposal network could be drafted, provided availability from several projects institutions. However, similar not drafted due lacking data. sustains initial goal, demonstrating usefulness data planning. At same time, show countries share many things can different approaches opens new avenues future research, extension topics more diverse compared.
