The urgent necessity for highly sensitive diagnostic tools has been accentuated by the ongoing mpox (monkeypox) virus pandemic due to complexity in identifying asymptomatic and presymptomatic carriers. Monkeypox, a rare zoonotic disease classified as category B infectious disease, is caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), which has broad host range. Since May 2022, human MPXV infection outbreak spread to more than 100 countries, and China reported 106 infections between June 2 30, 2023. Therefore, rapid effective detection essential control prevent its transmission. In this study, rapid, cost-effective, convenient fluorescent immunochromatographic assay (FICA) for antigen A35R was developed. Under optimal reaction conditions, visual limit of proposed 7.5 ng/mL completed within 15 min. There no cross-reactivity with norovirus (NV) or dengue (DENV) controls. Additionally, clinical application method demonstrated testing serum samples spiked A35R.
