Governments worldwide have implemented mandates, restrictions, and other coercive measures to secure adequate vaccine coverage, with the COVID-19 pandemic providing numerous examples. While ethics public reception of such are matters heated discussion, their effectiveness in motivating individuals get vaccinated remains incompletely understood. This study addresses that gap by analyzing data from a 2022 nationwide online survey conducted China. Respondents recruited through proportional quota sampling reflect key demographic characteristics population were asked specify vaccination status reason behind decision. Results reveal while most respondents reported getting voluntarily, 14.6% attributed government's mobilisation efforts. Moreover, members ruling Chinese Communist Party, as well favouring Western vaccines unavailable China, more likely cite for vaccination. These findings suggest can motivate substantial proportion vaccinated, especially those closely connected political system unmet preferences. Given controversy surrounding measures, this enhanced understanding could help formulating targeted policies combat infectious diseases safeguard health.

Objectives. To assess the impact of state COVID-19 vaccine mandates for health care workers (HCWs) on sector employment in United States. Methods. Using monthly state-level data from Quarterly Census Employment and Wages between January October 2021, we employed a partially pooled synthetic control method that accounted staggered mandate adoption heterogeneous treatment effects. We conducted analyses separately 4 subsectors—ambulatory services, hospitals, nursing residential care, social assistance—with an additional analysis 2 industry groups—skilled community elderly—under subsector. further explored possible impacts according to test-out option availability. Results. Mandate estimates were statistically indistinguishable zero. Results ruled out mandate-associated decrease larger than 2.1% premandate levels 6 domains examined states with no option. Conclusions. State HCWs not found be associated significant adverse even without testing alternative vaccination. The findings support as viable preventive measure material disruption workforce, including times public emergencies. ( Am J Public Health. Importance Seventeen states introduced COVID-19 vaccine mandates for health care workers (HCWs) in mid-2021. Prior research on the effect of these was centered nursing home sector, and more evidence is needed their entire HCW population. Objective To examine association between state HCWs uptake this Design, Setting, Participants This repeated cross-sectional study included biweekly, individual-level data adults aged 25 to 64 years who were working or volunteering settings obtained from Household Pulse Survey May 26 October 11, 2021. Analyses conducted November 2022 2023. Exposure Announcement a mandate HCWs. Main Outcomes Measures An indicator whether sampled ever received an completed intended complete primary vaccination series. Event analyses using staggered difference-in-differences methods compared among nonmandate before after each announcement. The sample further stratified by availability regular testing place (ie, test-out option) ages (25-49 50-64 years) heterogeneous associations. Results 31 142 (mean [SD] age, 45.5 [10.6] years; 72.1% female) 45 states, 16 which indicated mandate-associated 3.46–percentage point (pp) (95% CI, 0.29-6.63 pp; P = .03) increase proportion vaccinated against 3.64-pp 0.72-6.57 .02) that series 2 weeks announcement baseline proportions 87.98% 86.12%, respectively. In analyses, positive associations only detected with no option 49 years, suggested increases 3.32% 7.09% proportions. Conclusions Relevance found associated increased HCWs, especially younger those option. These findings suggest potential promote vaccinations already highly population, when place.

Abstract Purpose Despite substantial vaccination progress, persistent measles outbreaks challenge global elimination efforts, particularly within healthcare settings. In this paper, we critically review the factors contributing to outbreak and effective control measures for nosocomial transmission of measles. Methods We systematically searched electronic databases articles up 17th May, 2023. This was performed by two independent reviewers, with any disagreements resolved a third reviewer. also governmental international health agencies relevant studies. Results Forty were reviewed, revealing key fuelling in settings, including high transmissibility capability; intensity exposure; delayed care; failure use protective equipment implement measures; vaccine failure; unclear immunisation history lack registries; lacking recommendation on workers’ (HCWs) vaccination. To combat these challenges, successful strategies identified which include early notification contact tracing; triaging all cases setting dedicated isolation unit; strengthening physical improving case detection; determining immunity status HCWs; establishing policy management exposed personnel; developing pre-incident response plan. Conclusion A coordinated comprehensive approach is essential promptly identify manage necessitating multifactorial tailored individual These findings provide valuable foundation refining achieve maintain environments.
