Background: As mortality declined significantly during the fourth and fifth waves compared to previous waves, question of future role COVID-19 vaccination arose among both experts public in South Africa. Turning attention away from general public, now considered be at very low risk severe disease, a commonly held view was that campaign should focus only on those who remain highly vulnerable disease death COVID-19. Primary amongst this group are patients with common chronic diseases attending hospital outpatient departments. We hypothesized providing vaccinations on-site central will increase uptake for co-morbid conditions need them most Omicron phase pandemic. Aim: Evaluate acceptability, need, hospital-based site medical Objectives: To assess uptake, coverage, hesitancy people hospital, determine factors associated influencing document implementation acceptability project staff persons hospital. Methods: Mixed-methods study using quantitative qualitative methods. Results: Of 317 participants enrolled study, 229 (72%) had already received least one dose vaccine. A total 296 were eligible first vaccination, additional or booster according African Department Health guidelines. previously vaccinated, 65% opted an day it offered (same day). Only 13 unvaccinated (15% vaccine naïve participants) increasing coverage 72% 76%. Approximately 24% (n = 75) all refused (vaccine hesitant). This cross-sectional study, conducted during July-December 2022, included 1,537 unvaccinated from 18 camps. performed a complex sample survey analysis described participants' characteristics weighted descriptive statistics. fitted logistic regression models computed adjusted odds ratios 95% confidence intervals identify vaccine. Of IDPs, 55.4% were 18-39 years old, 82.6% females, 88.6% had no formal education. Among them, 63.5% (95% CI: 59.0-68.1) expressed who intended reject vaccine, 42.8% provided reason, 35.3% misconceptions, 9.5% reported safety concerns, 7.4% felt need. perceived as (Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR) = 2.31, [95% 1.35-3.96]), effective (AOR 4.28, 2.46-7.44]) resided official camps 3.29, 1.94-5.56]) more likely However, 2 kilometers or farther nearest health facility 0.34, 0.20-0.58]) less Intention was suboptimal. Background: On 18 June 2022, Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines were authorized under an Emergency Use Authorization by the United States Food Drug Administration to prevent severe coronavirus disease in children six months four years of age. Despite approval vaccinations for young children, there remain ongoing challenges reaching widespread coverage due parental decision-making. Parental decision-making plays a pivotal, yet understudied, role governing vaccine adoption among this priority demographic. Parent's self-reported survey data encompassed choices rationales, social determinants health, parent immigrant status. Data analyses illustrate associations between these variables. Regression modeling tests independence identified predicting factors Results: Only 25% intended vaccinate their child, while 34% resisted 41% felt unsure, despite 70% personal vaccination rates. Household income $25,000, identifying as migrant, or testing COVID-19-positive significantly predicted unsure The majority hesitant groups expressed concerns around side effects (20%), safety (2.9%), sufficiency knowledge (3.3%). Conclusions: In sample, predominance resistant rather than accepting having child vaccinated pediatric vaccine. Associations predictive are examined.
