The objectives were 1) to characterize a Göttingen Minipig model of metabolic syndrome regarding its colon microbiota and circulating microbial products, 2) assess whether ovariectomized female castrated male minipigs show similar phenotypes. Twenty-four nine-week-old Minipigs allocated four groups based on sex diet: females males fed either chow or high-fat diet (HFD) for 12 weeks. At study end, body composition plasma biomarkers measured, mixed meal tolerance test (MMT) an intravenous glucose (IVGTT) performed. HFD had significantly higher weight gain, fat percentage, fasting insulin glucagon compared the groups. Homeostatic assessment resistance index (HOMA-IR) was increased effectiveness derived from IVGTT Matsuda´s sensitivity MMT decreased in displayed dyslipidemia, with total-, LDL- HDL-cholesterol, HDL/non-HDL cholesterol ratio. clearly differed lean controls (GuniFrac distance matrix). main bacteria families driving this separation Clostridiaceae , Fibrobacteraceae Flavobacteriaceae Porphyromonadaceae . Probiotics are beneficial active microorganisms that colonize the human intestines and change composition of flora in particular parts host. Recently, use probiotics to regulate intestinal improve host immunity has received widespread attention. Recent evidence shown play significant roles gut microbiota composition, which can inhibit colonization pathogenic bacteria intestine, help build a healthy mucosa protective layer, enhance immune system. Based on close relationship between immunity, it become an extremely effective way by regulating microbiome with probiotics. In this review, we discussed influence probiotics, microbiota, life quality. We further emphasized regulation microflora through thereby enhancing improving people’s lives.

Abstract Introduction Obesity is a major health problem that associated with many physiological and mental disorders, such as diabetes, stroke, depression. Gut microbiota has been affirmed to interact various organs, including the brain. Intestinal their metabolites might target brain directly via vagal stimulation or indirectly through immune‐neuroendocrine mechanisms, they can regulate metabolism, adiposity, homoeostasis energy balance, central appetite food reward signaling, which together have crucial roles in obesity. Studies support concept of bidirectional signaling within gut–brain axis (GBA) pathophysiology obesity, mediated by metabolic, endocrine, neural, immune system mechanisms. Materials methods Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, Web Science databases were searched find relevant studies. Results The (GBA), connection between gut brain, influences function behavior three different pathways. Neural pathway mainly consists enteric nervous (ENS) vagus nerve. Endocrine pathway, however, affects neuroendocrine particularly hypothalamus–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) immunological pathway. Several alterations microbiome lead modulating metabolic pathways eating behaviors host GBA. Therefore, novel therapies targeting microbiome, i.e., fecal transplantation supplementation probiotics prebiotics, be potential treatment for Conclusion This study corroborates effect on body weight. results show becoming new antiobesity therapies.

Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) derived from the fermentation of carbohydrates by gut microbiota play a crucial role in regulating host physiology. Among them, acetate, propionate, and butyrate are key players various biological processes. Recent research has revealed their significant functions immune inflammatory responses. For instance, reduces development interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) generating cells while promoting regulatory T (Treg) cells. Propionate inhibits initiation Th2 response dendritic (DCs). Notably, SCFAs have an inhibitory impact on polarization M2 macrophages, emphasizing immunomodulatory properties potential for therapeutics. In animal models asthma, both propionate suppress pathway, thus reducing allergic airway inflammation.
