Abstract
The
clinical
utility
of
a
type
2
diabetes
mellitus
(T2DM)
polygenic
risk
score
(PRS)
in
the
East
Asian
population
remains
underexplored.
We
aimed
to
examine
potential
prognostic
value
T2DM
PRS
and
assess
its
viability
as
instrument.

for
5490
Korean
individuals
using
Biobank
data
(269,487
samples).

predictive
capability

prospective
longitudinal

Korean
Renal
Data
System
(KORDS)
is
a
nationwide
end-stage
renal
disease
(ESRD)
registry
database
operated
by
the
Society
of
Nephrology
(KSN).
Diabetes
mellitus
currently
leading
cause
ESRD
in
Korea;
this
article
provides
an
update
on
trends
and
characteristics
diabetic
patients.
The
KORDS
Committee
KSN
collects
data
dialysis
centers
patients
through
online
program.
Here,
we
analyzed
status
chronic
kidney
stage
5D
(CKD
5D)
using
from
2001
to
2021.
In
2021,
adequacy
hemodialysis
(HD)
was
lower
CKD
than
nondiabetic
patients,
while
that
peritoneal
(PD)
similar.
Diabetic
had
higher
proportion
cardiac
vascular
diseases
were
more
frequently
admitted
hospitals
death
disease.
From
2020,
mortality
rate

2021
trend
reversed.
PD

Korean
National
Health
Information
Database
(NHID),
which
contains
nationwide
real-world
claims
data
including
sociodemographic
data,
health
care
utilization
screening
and
healthcare
provider
information,

powerful
resource
to
test
various
hypotheses.

recommended

Abstract
Background

risk
