The present study was performed to investigate the basic chemical composition and nutritional value of 10 terrestrial plant leaves (viz. Mangifera indica, Litchi chinensis, Artocarpus heterophyllus, Ziziphus mauritiana, Albizia lebbeck, Tamarindus Cicer arietinum, Bauhinia acuminata, Delonix regia Peltophorum pterocarpum ) abundant in tropical subtropical environments. leaf meals were evaluated comprehensively, encompassing proximate (% dry matter), amino acids, fatty antinutritional factors (ANFs), antioxidants antibacterial potential using established methodologies. crude protein (CP) content ranged from 10.92% 20.74% (w/w), with highest observed A . lebbeck leaves. lipid (CL) fibre (CF) contents varied between 1.23%–5.38% 13.73%–24.63%, respectively (w/w). protein‐to‐energy ratio (P/E) 32.32 60.70 mg/kcal, significantly higher ( p < 0.05) P/E A. compared other Dominant acids included palmitic acid (C16:0), oleic (C18:1n9c) linolenic (C18:3n3). Considerable amounts essential (EAAs) nonessential (NEAAs) recorded leaves, maximum quantities detected heterophyllus , respectively. Notably, substantial mineral elements also Z. mauritiana identified as a rich source iron (Fe), copper (Cu) manganese (Mn), while calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) magnesium (Mg) levels Furthermore, aqueous extracts exhibited antioxidant potentials, activities for both T. indica Analyses ANFs indicated presence trypsin inhibitor (TI) (1.62–3.69 mg/g), tannin (21.25–61.25 phytic (1.74–5.42 cellulose (14.53%–21.37%) hemicellulose (5.48%–10.56%) conclusively proposes utilization leguminous plants, particularly B. acuminata P. nonconventional ingredients after eliminating or deactivating major ANFs. This information on nutrients less explored can be used optimize low‐cost carp diet formulation ensure economic profitability fish farmers region.

Large yellow croaker is an economically important carnivorous marine aquaculture fish in China with high protein requirements. Current meal - based feeds face issues like cost and resource depletion, while plant sources have potential but also controversies. To explore this, a 120 day feeding trial was conducted standard commercial feed (CF) modified (PF) where 70% of replaced by protein. Results showed no significant growth performance differences between the two groups. Transcriptome analysis identified 557 308 differentially expressed genes liver intestine respectively. GO KEGG enrichment analyses indicated their association immune response, lipid metabolism, signal transduction. Five key related to metabolism regulation were found. These findings underscore integrating into diets, which could significantly enhance sustainable practices global reducing reliance on meal. Emphasizing this transition crucial for fostering environmental sustainability supporting future aquaculture.

Abstract Replacing fishmeal (FM) with an optimal aquafeed alternative remains a significant challenge. Recent research suggests that insect meal is potential candidate ingredient for substitute fishmeal. Simultaneously, the Black soldier fly larvae (BM) intensively researched promising results. However, controversial results and inability to complete FM substitution prompt further investigation into new techniques. Solid-state fermentation (SSF) has been identified as cost-effective technique enhance efficiency of aqua feed ingredients. Therefore, nine-week experiment was conducted using fermented black (FB) replace based on protein content 0% (0FB), 35% (35FB), 70% (70FB), 100% (100FB) in diet GIFT tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) fry (0.18±0.01 g/fish) applying SSF. Additionally, entirely replaced by unfermented (UB), including (100UB). Results weight gain (WG), daily (DWG), relative (RWG), specific growth rate (SGR) FB-fed fish were statistically higher (P<0.05) than those UB-fed fish. there decreasing trend performance when FB proportion increased. ratio (FCR) (PER) all lower control. Further, 100UB exhibited reduced values WG, DWG, PER, underscoring positive effect carcass composition analysis showed SSF did not adversely affect crude protein, ash, fiber contents. lipid decreased increasing levels FB. Histopathological alterations liver tissues fed FBSFM-included diets highlight importance screening rearing surfaces ensure safety. Overall, BM viable option substituting O. without affecting utilization.
