Background/Objectives: Most studies have linked mandatory homeschooling during COVID-19 to mental health harm in parents and children, while a minority found non-significant or beneficial effects. Past not measured continuously over an extended period; consequently, they could capture compounding effects, which may explain conflicting results. We asked whether children’s cumulative time spent homeschooled school closure mandates caused for parent child health, employment, internet access educational support from schools (live pre-recorded online classes, home learning packs) impacted this relationship. aimed identify the families at greatest risk of that mitigated risk. Methods: Couples completed retrospective, cross-sectional survey questionnaires assessing depression, anxiety stress, internalizing externalizing symptoms, family’s experience. Data were analyzed using mediation analysis total ordinary least squares regression simple slopes analysis. Results: Both children experienced homeschooling. Live classes protected packs children. Unexpectedly, reliable employment both placed greater Conclusions: Findings suggest long-term harm. To protect family mandates, should provide with evidence-based support.

Technology has become integral to children’s lives, impacting many aspects, from academic socialization. Children of today’s generation are growing up with digital devices, such as mobile phones, iPads, computers, video games, and smart gadgets; therefore, screen time ubiquitous in daily routines. This paper provides a review usage its impact children across multiple developmental domains: cognitive, language, physical, socio-emotional domain under eight years age. The cognitive considers factors attention span memory; language examines vocabulary, speech, development; physical focuses on motor development, exercise, sleep, diet; social-emotional relationships, self-identity, emotional behaviors/regulation. Our findings mixed, there both benefits drawbacks technology use, but requires controlled observation monitoring for sustainable improved progress domains. Specific recommendations advise that per day should be limited zero minutes (min) (0–2 years), <60 min (3–5-years), 60 (6–8 years).

This paper reviews the global effect of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on mental health children and adolescents in South Korea, U.S., Japan, China. We reviewed research deteriorated health, including increased suicide, suicidal thoughts, self-harm. Various studies have shown that students' issues, such as depression anxiety, worsened during COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, number students who committed suicide has significantly U.S. Japan. Factors prior status, change daily routine, reduced physical activity, excessive screen time, overuse electronic devices, social support been reported to a significant effect. The chain deteriorating among youth began at onset COVID-19, distancing, school closure. As youths stay home instead going school, they lost opportunities connect with their friends or teachers, could provide outside homes. Young people spent less time activity more online, which damaged sleeping schedule routine. In preparing for post-pandemic phase, we should thoroughly analyze long-term effects while simultaneously tackling current imminent issues.

Children's excessive use of technology is a growing concern, and despite taking various measures, parents often find it difficult to limit their children's device use. Limiting tech usage can be especially challenging with early adolescents as they start develop sense autonomy. While numerous tech-based mediation solutions exist, in this paper, we aim learn from directly by having them contribute co-design activities. Through multi-session, group-based, online study 21 (ages 11-14), explore perceptions towards overuse what types propose help disengagement. Findings these sessions insights into how the participants conceptualized problem overuse, envisioned appropriate strategies, important design considerations. We also reflect on our methods, which encouraged active participation facilitated valuable contributions during sessions.

Abstract Background High levels of physical activity (PA), low screen time, combined with sufficient sleep provide better health benefits. However, few studies have examined the association these behaviours academic skills. Therefore, this study aims to determine how PA, and time are related selected skills 8/9-year-old children while examining compliance guidelines on sedentary behaviour, among population group. Methods This cross-sectional included 114 primary school (50% girls) aged 8–9years old from 2nd grade. The were assessed using self-reported questionnaires. (based reading writing) by a battery methods designed diagnose causes failure in students 7–9. Non-linear regression was applied build multivariate models aimed at finding most significant predictors for separately. Results Sixty-seven percent met guidelines, 22% only 8% PA guidelines. In terms boys spent more playing games than girls ( p = .008). Moderate vigorous intensity (MVPA) associated higher/better scores visual-auditory integration (B -0.07, .040). Not meeting lower 0.12, .042). Children who did not meet had perceptual-motor -0.09, Conclusions Participating limiting may benefit/support children.

Introduction Child attention skills are critical for supporting self-regulation abilities, especially during the first years of life. On other hand, inattention symptoms in preschoolers have been associated with poor school readiness, literacy and academic achievement. Previous research has linked excessive screen time increased early childhood. However, most only focused on TV exposure did not investigate this association COVID-19 pandemic. This atypical context children worldwide, including preschoolers. We hypothesize that higher levels child media parenting stress at age 3.5 will be 4.5. Method study draws participants followed longitudinally over span 2-years an investigation Canadian preschoolers’ use pandemic ( N = 315, 2020). A follow-up sample was completed 2021 264). Results Analyses using multiple linear regression, revealed a positive between 4.5 years. Parental also positively symptoms. Associations were observed above individual (child age, inhibitory control, sex) family (parent education income) characteristics. Discussion These results confirmed our hypothesis highlight preschooler may undermine attentional skills. Since is crucial component development, behavior outcomes, reinforces importance parents adopting healthy habits.
