Background/Objectives:
Most
studies
have
linked
mandatory
homeschooling
during
COVID-19
to
mental
health
harm
in
parents
and
children,
while
a
minority
found
non-significant
or
beneficial
effects.
Past
not
measured
continuously
over
an
extended
period;
consequently,
they
could
capture
compounding
effects,
which
may
explain
conflicting
results.

whether
children’s
cumulative
time
spent
homeschooled
school
closure
mandates
caused
for
parent
child
health,
employment,
internet
access
educational
support
from
schools

pre-recorded
online
classes,
home
learning
packs)
impacted
this
relationship.

Technology
has
become
integral
to
children’s
lives,
impacting
many
aspects,
from
academic
socialization.
Children
of
today’s
generation
are
growing
up
with
digital
devices,
such
as
mobile
phones,
iPads,
computers,
video
games,
and
smart
gadgets;
therefore,
screen
time
ubiquitous
in
daily
routines.
This
paper
provides
a
review
usage
its
impact
children
across
multiple
developmental
domains:
cognitive,
language,
physical,
socio-emotional
domain
under
eight
years
age.
The
cognitive
considers
factors
attention
span
memory;
language
examines
vocabulary,
speech,
development;
physical
focuses
on
motor
development,
exercise,
sleep,
diet;
social-emotional
relationships,
self-identity,
emotional
behaviors/regulation.
Our
findings
mixed,
there
both
benefits
drawbacks
technology
use,
but
requires
controlled
observation
monitoring
for
sustainable
improved
progress
domains.
Specific
recommendations
advise
that
per
day
should
be
limited

minutes

(COVID-19)
pandemic

mental
health
children

adolescents

Introduction
Child
attention
skills
are
critical
for
supporting
self-regulation
abilities,

years

heart
disease
(CHD).
