Machine learning (ML) has revolutionized resource management in agriculture by analyzing vast amounts of data and creating precise predictive models. Abstract Arecanut grading is essential for maintaining quality, fair pricing, and efficient trade. Manual methods, dependent on subjective human assessment, are prone to errors, inconsistencies, inefficiencies, particularly in large-scale operations.Automating this process vital improving accuracy scalability. The You Only Look Once (YOLO) deep learning method autonomously evaluates arecanuts by training 2,000 high-resolution photos uniformly categorized into four quality ratings. We split the dataset 80% training, 20% validation, used a separate curated test set evaluate generalization. Then evaluated YOLOv8 YOLOv11 models nano, small, medium configurations. optimization involved tuning batch size, rate, weight decay through grid search applying data augmentation techniques.The nano model achieved highest of 98.25%, with precision 0.98, recall processing time 220.19 ms per image. In contrast, exhibited lower due overlapping feature misclassifications. While results highlight potential YOLO automating agricultural grading, study constrained size single-perspective imaging, limiting its generalizability. Future work will focus expanding datasets, incorporating advanced imaging technologies, transparency practical deployment. These demonstrate offering scalable, efficient, sustainable solution arecanut classification real-world applications.

Актуальность исследования обусловлена необходимостью повышения эффективности сельскохозяйственного производства в условиях растущей потребности продовольственной безопасности, особенно странах с низким уровнем экономического развития, таких как Эфиопия. Основная цель работы заключается исследовании возможностей применения алгоритмов машинного обучения для оптимизации агропроизводственных процессов и адаптации международного опыта к специфическим условиям Эфиопии. Методологический подход включает анализ современной научной литературы, посвященной использованию сельском хозяйстве, систематизацию успешных практик алгоритмов, CNN, LSTM, RNN Q-Learning. Проведено исследование особенностей сектора Эфиопии, включая существующие барьеры внедрения передовых технологий. Результаты демонстрируют, что алгоритмы обладают значительным потенциалом урожайности, улучшения мониторинга состояния почвы культур, а также прогнозирования климатических рисков. В частности, использование данных, полученных беспилотников сенсоров, способствует созданию точных моделей управления процессами хозяйстве.
