The Phubbing Scale (PS) is an instrument used to measure the frequency and extent of behavior ignoring someone you are with giving attention your mobile phone instead. However, there insufficient evidence about psychometric adequacy Spanish version instrument. main goal this research was analyze properties PS in a representative sample adolescents young adults. A total 1351 participants comprised (42.78% females, age range = 12-21). Students were selected from different levels education such as secondary school, high vocational training, or university. convenient used. reliability scores calculated by means McDonald's Omega. internal structure questionnaire analyzed confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). measurement invariance gender educational level also calculated. In addition, Pearson's correlations between phubbing other indicators mental health goodness-of-fit indices for two-factor model good. Omega coefficient score 0.787. Measurement both found. phenomenon found have statistically significant emotional well-being, indicators, Problematic Internet Use (PIU), sole exception hyperactivity subscale SDQ. This study provided validity (PS), suggesting that reliable tool quantifying adolescents.

Objective This study examined the prevalence of phubbing behavior among school and university students in Spain analyzed correlation with other indicators psychological well-being mental health. Methods The sample comprised a total 1,351 students, ages ranging from 12 to 21 years. used Phubbing Scale (PS), Compulsive Internet Use (CIUS), Rosenberg Self-Esteem (RSE), Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (IERQ) for data collection. Results results showed evidence approximately half students. Statistically significant differences were found based on gender educational level Phone Obsession subscale PS score, male scoring higher their respective parameters. In addition, was positively correlated problematic internet use negatively self-esteem. Conclusion is highly prevalent adolescents aged 12–21 years low self-esteem use. Developing strategies addressing this widespread issue at early ages, particularly within context, such as schools, crucial implementing preventive measures. inappropriate technological devices, including smartphones, schools has potential affect students’ ability adapt school.
