ESG and climate-related risks versus traditional risks in commercial banking: A bibliometric and thematic review

Abstract The aim of this study is to classify scientific research on the impact ESG and climate-related risks conduct banking business. systematic literature review was based a bibliometric analysis articles found in Scopus Web Science databases. search confined materials published between 2000 August 2023. After applying criteria limiting search, final result 869 unique items which were later analysed towards establishing relationship (‘new risks’) with other (so-called ‘traditional’) identifying gaps at interface traditional new risks. This article introduces variety findings, including most productive authors, organisations, countries journals, cited keyword distribution. In addition, map evolution approach risk constructed basis review. identified 11 clusters influenced by 10 affected risk.

Municipal policies prioritise adoption advanced technologies, such IoT, AI, twins, storage systems, improve forecasting resource efficiency. Investments zero-emission buildings, renewable-powered public transport, green infrastructure are essential enhancing reducing emissions. Furthermore, community engagement awareness campaigns form an integral part promoting practices aligned with broader objectives.
