Hydrogen is gaining prominence as a key enabler in the global shift toward low-carbon energy systems, yet its role heating—particularly residential, commercial, and industrial contexts—remains underdeveloped. This paper explores potential of hydrogen-based technologies to decarbonize heating, focusing on technological innovations, economic feasibility, regulatory frameworks. Drawing comprehensive review literature, policy documents, case studies such EU-supported H2Heat project, examines developments hydrogen production, storage, distribution, with special emphasis green integration into Combined Heat Power (CHP) systems heat pump technologies. The findings demonstrate quick advancements infrastructure prepared for hydrogen, electrolyzer efficiency, renewable energy-based hybrid systems. High costs, retrofitting, safety issues, fragmentation are still problems, though.
