A novel one-pot method for synthesizing polysubstituted pyrrole derivatives via three-component reactions of alkenyl bromides, amines, and isocyanides is reported by Pd catalysis, without additional ligands, with the orderly insertion three isocyanide molecules.

Recently, defective sites in MOFs have become an important tool for tuning the catalytic performance of MOFs. Herein, we report a heterogeneous catalyst "Pd-UiO-67(N)x" by utilizing active site MOF to modulate electronic state Pd, which demonstrates excellent performances oxidative cyclization reaction isocyanides with o-aminophenols benefiting from electron-deficient nature Pd species. When loading Pd-UiO-67(N)x system was decreased 0.37 mol %, efficiency significantly enhanced and turnover number (TON) increased 232, 27 2.6 times higher than that homogeneous catalysts defect-free Pd-UiO-67(N)0, respectively. The open pore structure d-MOFs supports adsorption o-aminophenols. Additionally, domain-limiting effect framework restricts aggregation resulting good stability species, without significant loss its activity five consecutive cycles. We have successfully demonstrated an efficient and practical Pd-catalyzed reaction between aziridine isocyanide, leading to the synthesis of isoindoline derivatives in moderate good yields.

An unprecedented route for the preparation of fused tetracyclic N-heterocycles is presented through palladium-catalyzed cyclization isocyanides with alkyne-tethered aryl iodides. In this transformation, a novel amino-to-alkyl 1,5-palladium migration/intramolecular C(sp3)-C(sp2) coupling sequence was observed first. More importantly, isocyanide exhibited three roles, serving simultaneously as C1 synthon, C1N1 and donor C(sp3) coupling, reaction sole successful example that achieved C(sp3)-H activation isocyanide.
