Introduction
Antenatal
depression,

hormonal

during
pregnancy

health
issue.

Abstract
Background:
Maternal
mental
health
status
is
a
key
determinant
of
fetomaternal
well-being,
childhood
growth,

developing
country
settings,
especially
with

poor
doctor–patient
ratio,
depression
often
underdiagnosed
during
routine
antenatal
care
(ANC)
clinic
visits.
Aims
Objectives:
The
aim
to
determine
predictors
depression,
among
pregnant
women
attending
ANC
tertiary
hospital
using
Beck’s
inventory
(BDI).
Materials
Methods:
A
cross-sectional
study
design
was
employed,
while
systematic
random
sampling
method
used
recruit
attendees
at
teaching
hospital.

via
interviewer-administration
pretested
questionnaire
following
ethical
approval.
