Motor
learning
is
often
viewed
as
a
unitary
process
that
operates
outside
of
conscious
awareness.
This
perspective
has
led
to
the
development
sophisticated
models
designed
elucidate
mechanisms
implicit
sensorimotor
learning.
In
this
review,
we
argue
for
broader
perspective,
emphasizing
contribution
explicit
strategies
tasks.
Furthermore,
propose
theoretical
framework
motor
consists
three
fundamental
processes:
reasoning,
understanding
action–outcome
relationships;
refinement,
optimizing
and
cognitive
parameters
achieve
goals;
retrieval,
inferring
context
recalling
control
policy.
We
anticipate
‘3R’
how
complex
movements
are
learned
will
open
exciting
avenues
future
research
at
intersection
between
cognition
action.

Reconfigurations of cortical manifold structure during reward-based motor learning

Adaptive
motor
behavior
depends
on
the
coordinated
activity
of
multiple
neural
systems
distributed
across
brain.
While
role
sensorimotor
cortex
in
learning
has
been
well
established,
how
higher-order
brain
interact
with
to
guide
is
less
understood.
Using
functional
MRI,
we
examined
human
during
a
reward-based
task
where
subjects
learned
shape
their
hand
trajectories
through
reinforcement
feedback.
We
projected
patterns
cortical
and
striatal
connectivity
onto
low-dimensional
manifold
space
regions
expanded
contracted
along
learning.
During
early
learning,
found
that
several
areas
dorsal
attention
network
exhibited
increased
covariance
salience/ventral
reduced
default
mode
(DMN).
late
these
effects
reversed,
now
exhibiting
DMN
areas.
However,
posteromedial
showed
opposite
pattern
phases,
its
suggesting
coordinating
different
networks
over
time.
Our
results
establish
changes
support
identify
distinct
transitions
coupling
transmodal
when
adapting

Stroke,
a
major
cause
of
disability,
disrupts
brain
function
and
motor
skills.
Previous
research
has
mainly
focused
on
reorganization

neuroimaging

nonhuman
primate
model

Cynomolgus
Macaques),
explore
how
ischemic
stroke
affects
whole-brain
cortical
architecture

spontaneous
behavioral
recovery.

projecting
patterns
connectivity
onto
low-dimensional
manifold
space,
find
that
several
regions
both
sensorimotor
cortex
higher-order
transmodal
exhibit
significant
shifts
embedding
from
pre-
post-stroke.

network
regions,
not
preserved
are
associated
with
