The largely uncharted complexation chemistry of the veterinary polyether ionophores, monensic and salinomycinic acids (HL) with metal ions type M4+ known antiproliferative potential antibiotics has provoked our interest in exploring coordination processes between MonH/SalH Ce4+. (1) Methods: Novel monensinate salinomycinate cerium(IV)-based complexes were synthesized structurally characterized by elemental analysis, a plethora physicochemical methods, density functional theory, molecular dynamics, biological assays. (2) Results: formation species general composition [CeL2(OH)2] [CeL(NO3)2(OH)], depending on reaction conditions, was proven both experimentally theoretically. metal(IV) [CeL(NO3)2(OH)] possess promising cytotoxic activity against human tumor uterine cervix (HeLa) cell line, being highly selective (non-tumor embryo Lep-3 vs. HeLa) compared to cisplatin, oxaliplatin, epirubicin.

Abstract Metal complexes have recently attracted a lot of attention, particularly as anticancer and antibacterial agents, owing to their versatile mechanisms easily tunable characteristics. However, the application such compounds in medical context, especially cancer treatment, has been hampered due limited solubility stability water aqueous solutions, well lack selectivity. To address these limitations, several approaches developed improve targeted delivery solubility. The first strategy involves physical encapsulation metal within carriers facilitate controlled drug release. second covalently linking polymers, creating prodrugs that can be converted active drugs at more controllable rate. Condensation of curcumin with furfuryl amine led to the synthesis H 2 L Schiff base in a 1:1 Molar ratio. Subsequently, complexes this several transition metal ions were prepared also one‐to‐one molar Multiple characterization techniques employed identify structure all compounds. Infrared, UV, proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic tests, elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, thermal conductivity, and density function theory (DFT) calculations utilized gain comprehensive understanding their structures. Except for nickel (II) complex, which exhibits non‐electrolyte behavior, found exhibit electrolytic behavior based on conductivity studies. Additionally, thermogravimetric analysis was learn more about complexes' breakdown ligand's behavior. From DFT studies, some parameters obtained as bond angles lengths, chemical hardness, softness, energy levels highest occupied molecular orbital lowest unoccupied orbital, electrophilic index, dipole moment, electronegativity, other variables. Against one or bacterial species, it discovered that antibacterial activity superior free base. Furthermore, exhibited notable antioxidant according results using DPPH scavenging. Overall, detailed synthesized compounds performed, revealing structural features, functional properties, potential applications. The (pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)chloridoiridium(III) complex bearing a κP,κS-bonded Ph2PCH2CH2SPh ligand ([Ir(η5-C5Me5)Cl(Ph2P(CH2)2SPh-κP,κS)]PF6, (1)] was synthesized and characterized. Multinuclear (1H, 13C 31P) NMR spectroscopy employed for the determination of structure. Moreover, SC-XRD confirmed proposed structure belongs to “piano stool” type. Hirshfeld surface analysis outlined most important intermolecular interactions in crystallographic optimized at B3LYP-D3BJ/6-311++G(d,p)(H,C,P,S,Cl)/LanL2DZ(Ir) level theory. applicability this verified through comparison experimental theoretical bond lengths angles, 1H chemical shifts.
