Abstract In recent years, the functionalization of 1,3‐butadiene has become an attractive strategy for constructing allyl compounds with molecular and structural complexity, current research focuses on synthetic chemistry organic synthesis. Compared traditional synthesis method, methods promoted by photochemistry or electrochemistry represent environmentally friendly mild strategy. this review, reactions under photochemical/electrochemical processes in years are reviewed according to classification systems, particular emphasis corresponding reaction mechanism, which lays a foundation further exploration new catalytic methods.

Indolizines are a promising class of biologically active compounds. However, photocatalytic methods for their selective derivatization scarce in the literature. Herein, mild, simple, and chemoselective protocol synthesis 3-(trifluoromethyl)indolizine has been developed. The desired products were obtained good to excellent yields can be easily on gram scale. By tuning redox properties Ru-based photocatalyst, it is possible achieve competitive further apply optimized conditions broad variety substrates. This method tolerates many functional groups and, therefore, used late-stage functionalization. Our combined theoretical spectroscopic findings revealed that superior dyad-like ruthenium catalyst developed this study completely different electronic nature both key species crucial efficient photoredox catalysis compared commonly homoleptic complexes.

A cerium-catalyzed C–H alkylation of N-sulfonyl ketimines with low-cost and readily available alkanes as alkyl sources was developed. This transformation proceeded through the synergy photoinitiated ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) using a chlorine radical an HAT reagent air green oxidant. series alkylated were synthesized moderate to good yields in highly atom-economic manner under chemical oxidant-free conditions.
