Extracting the mechanical properties of a composite hydrogel; e.g., bioglass (BG)–collagen (COL), is often difficult due to complexity experimental procedure. BGs could be embedded in COL and thereby improve for bone tissue engineering applications. This paper proposed deep-learning-based approach extract hydrogel directly from microstructural images. Four datasets various shapes (9000 2D images) generated by finite element analysis showed that deep neural network (DNN) model efficiently predict hydrogel, including Young’s modulus Poisson’s ratio. ResNet AlexNet architecture were tuned ensure excellent performance high accuracy methods with R-values greater than 0.99 mean absolute error prediction less 7%. The results full dataset revealed had better predicting elastic material BGs-COL 0.97 compared 0.96 ratio, respectively. work provided bridging combine DNN applications diverse fields such as engineering, materials science, medical engineering.

Bruxism affects millions worldwide, leading to dental damage like worn teeth and tooth loss. Resin 3D printing presents a promising method for creating intricate, comfortable, durable occlusal splints. This study examines how parameters—layer thickness, orientation angle, curing time—affect the mechanical (compressive strength, wear rate, impact strength) physical (water sorption, surface roughness, dimensional accuracy) properties of splints made from methacrylate-based resin. A total 120 specimens were produced according American Society Testing Materials (ASTM) standards using different parametric combinations. The response methodology (RSM) was applied optimize key parameters. optimum parameters compressive strength include layer height 16.5 mm, time 93.6 min, an angle 12.8º, yielding 9.05 MPa, rate 159 mm 3 /min, 71.58 J/m. Similarly, results minimum roughness (8.013 microns), maximum accuracy (97.67 water sorption (0.386%) are achieved at thickness 16 93 12º. Results show that optimizing resin significantly reduces production costs, particularly in regions with limited access care, while promoting sustainable solutions by minimizing environmental traditional manufacturing methods enhancing efficiency splint production.

Statistical Shape Models (SSMs) are widely used in orthopedics to extract the main shape features from bone regions (e.g., femur). This study aims develop an SSM of femoral medullary canal, investigate its anatomical variability, and assess variations depending on canal length. The canals were isolated 72 CT femur scans, through a threshold-based segmentation. A region interest (ROI) was selected; sixteen segments extracted ROI, ranging 25% full length down most distal segment. An developed identify modes variation for each number Principal Components (PCs) needed explain at least 90% variance three/four based examined relationship between identified PCs geometric parameters like length, radius curvature, ellipticity, mean diameter, conicity, reporting range percentage these SSMs provide insights into variability emphasizing importance considering different capture various These findings can contribute design personalized orthopedic implants involving femur.
