Oral cavity and lip cancers are the 16th most common cancer in world. It is widely known that a lack of public knowledge about precancerous lesions, oral symptoms, risk factors leads to diagnostic delay therefore lower survival rate. Risk factors, which include drinking alcohol, smoking, HPV infection, pro-inflammatory factor-rich diet, poor hygiene, must be avoided by general population. Regular clinical examinations should enriched an search protocol for summarized this review. Moreover, new methods, some already available (vital tissue staining, optical imaging, cytology, salivary biomarkers, artificial intelligence, colposcopy, spectroscopy), newly researched techniques increase likelihood stopping pathological process at stage. Well-established treatments (surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy) continuously being developed using novel technologies, increasing their success Additionally, researched. This review presents glance cancer—its current classification epidemiology—and will provide insights into development methods therapies.

Abstract The high incidence of oral cancer combined with excessive treatment cost underscores the need for novel preventive and therapeutic options. value natural agents, including plant secondary metabolites (phytochemicals), in preventing carcinogenesis representing expansive source anticancer drugs have been established. While fragmentary research data are available on antioral effects phytochemicals, a comprehensive critical evaluation potential these agents prevention intervention human malignancies has not conducted according to our knowledge. This study presents complete analysis current preclinical clinical results using phytochemicals. Our in‐depth highlights various such as phenolics, terpenoids, alkaloids, sulfur‐containing compounds, against numerous cells and/or vivo models by antiproliferative, proapoptotic, cell cycle‐regulatory, antiinvasive, antiangiogenic, antimetastatic effects. Bioactive phytochemicals exert their antineoplastic modulating signaling pathways, specifically involving epidermal growth factor receptor, cytokine receptors, toll‐like tumor necrosis receptor consequently alter expression downstream genes proteins. Interestingly, demonstrate encouraging trials, reduction lesion size, growth, pain score, development new lesions. most displayed minimal toxicity, concerns bioavailability may limit application. Future directions include more mechanistic studies, administration formulations, investigation phytocompounds adjuvants conventional treatment, randomized trials.
