The Molecular Basis of Resilience: A Narrative Review

Resilience
refers
to
the
adaptability
of
a
person
–
an
ability
“bounce-back”
from
stressors.
We
question
if
resilience
can
be
strengthened,
potentially
decrease
risk
stress-related
disorders.
Unfortunately,
molecular
origins
are
complicated
and
not
yet
well
understood.
In
this
review,
we
examine
various
physiological
biomarkers
resilience,
including
associated
genes,
epigenetic
changes,
protein
with
resilient
phenotypes.
addition
assessing
that
may
indicate
higher
levels
also
review
at
length
many
confer
lower
lead
disorders
low
such
as
anxiety
depression.
This
large
encompassing

identify
possible
therapeutic

Stressful
life
events
(SLEs)
are
a
risk
factor
for
alcohol
use
problems,
