Contamination of crop seeds and feed with Aspergillus flavus its associated aflatoxins presents a significant threat to human animal health due their hepatotoxic carcinogenic properties. To address this challenge, researchers have screened for potential biological control agents in peanut soil pods. This study identified promising candidate, strain the nonpigmented bacterium, Achromobacter xylosoxidans ZJS2-1, isolated from rhizosphere Zhejiang Province, China, exhibiting notable antifungal antiaflatoxin activities. Further investigations demonstrated that ZJS2-1 active substances (ZAS) effectively inhibited growth at MIC 60 μL/mL nearly suppressed AFB1 production by 99%. Metabolomic analysis revealed ZAS significantly affected metabolites involved cell wall membrane biosynthesis, leading compromised cellular integrity induced apoptosis A. through release cytochrome c. Notably, targeted SrbA, key transcription factor ergosterol biosynthesis integrity, highlighting crucial role ZJS2-1's biocontrol mechanism. Moreover, infection plant wilt caused can be efficiently alleviated ZAS. Additionally, inhibitory effects on various species, inhibition rates ranging 80 These findings highlight as agent against offering solution enhance food safety protect health.

The mycotoxin fusaric acid (FA) induces rapid oxidative burst leading to cell death in plants. At the same time, plant defence reactions are mediated by several phytohormones for instance ethylene (ET). However, previously conducted studies leave research gaps on how ET plays a regulatory role under exposure. Therefore, this study aims time-dependent effects of two FA concentrations (0.1 mM and 1 mM) were explored regulation reactive oxygen species (ROS) leaves wild-type (WT) receptor mutant Never ripe (Nr) tomatoes. induced superoxide H2O2 accumulation both genotypes dose- exposure pattern. activated NADPH oxidase (+34% compared control) RBOH1 transcript levels WT leaves. production was significantly higher Nr with 62% which could contribute lipid peroxidation genotype. In parallel, antioxidative mechanisms also activated. Food contaminants pose serious threats to public health, with profound negative impacts on the economy, society, and environment. However, there is a lack of timely comprehensive reviews latest developments in food effective measures prevent contamination, particularly through novel intelligent detection technologies regulatory regimes. This study addresses this knowledge gap by presenting review literature, focusing current types contaminants, advances technologies, emerging risks, frameworks. The reviewed 116 relevant articles published between 2019 2024 conducted thematic analysis. were classified into three categories: biological, chemical, physical. identified six key drivers future safety risks: demographic change, economic factors, environmental conditions, geopolitical shifts, consumer priorities, technological advancements. Findings reveal uneven understanding concern, their impact system, environment, human health. These findings highlight need for research systematically identifying validating regional differences contamination prevention assessing extent which these effectiveness prevention, mitigation, control efforts. also call more international cooperation active involvement technology partners facilitate application cutting-edge control.

Mycotoxins are toxic substances produced as byproducts of various types mold. These mycotoxins mainly linked to certain genera fungi, such Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Claviceps, and Alternaria, formed under specific conditions. encompass a range chemically diverse compounds with small molecular weight, typically less than 1000 Da. Currently, more 500 recognized harmful the health humans, animals, plants. Each type falls into particular groups distinct effects, most common well-known ones being aflatoxins (AFTs), ochratoxins (OTs), fumonisins (FUMs), zearalenone (ZEN), trichothecenes (TCTs), patulin (PAT), citrinin (CT). Adhering good agricultural industrial practices is crucial reducing risk mycotoxin contamination in food production. Efficient prompt detection utmost importance realm safety. This chapter deals conventional commercial methods for from past present.

Abstract The abundant and renewable resources from fruit by-products are getting emphasis on their valorization. These may contain toxic substances due to factors such as cultivation, harvesting, transportation, preservation, or processing. Hence, presenting scientific overviews of the toxicological qualities detoxification trends these critical for implicating possible present demand valorization requires methodologies any toxicants develop healthier products. This review emphasized fruits which maximum global production occurred in 2022. In this review, heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, nickel, lead, mercury), mycotoxins, toxicant organic compounds, anti-nutritional factors, pesticide/fungicide residues selected byproducts were discussed. Current reduce during emphasized. Novel functional foods valorized future perspectives also focused review.
