Peanut meal (PNM) is a byproduct of the peanut oil extraction process, but its application seriously limited by presence anti-nutritional factors, imbalance in amino acid profiles, and susceptibility to mycotoxin contamination. This study was conducted investigate effects solid-state fermentation on nutritional quality PNM, as well PNM fermented (FPNM) ileal digestibility acids apparent metabolizable energy (AME) broiler chickens. The results indicated that improved increasing crude protein, TCA-soluble L-lactic concentration (p < 0.05), decreasing fiber, phytic acid, aflatoxin B1 0.05). Solid-state also increased free level balance hydrolyzed PNM. A nitrogen-free diet used determine loss endogenous birds, or FPNM only protein source formulate semi-purified diets. result showed feeding resulted higher (AID) standardized (SID) values essential methionine, lysine, leucine, phenylalanine Moreover, AID SID non-essential were both than those except for proline AME determined classic substitution method, had no effect value > In conclusion, potential ingredient an alternative broilers.

ABSTRACT The aquaculture industry is a significant source of food proteins and other essential nutrients, providing the much‐needed requirements for human nutrition. However, identifying sustainable affordable feed ingredients growing sector remains challenge industry. African sector, in particular, developing discernibly but faces distinct socioeconomic infrastructural challenges. Elevated usage fishmeal financially challenging associated with ecological risks. This review examines potential alternative protein sources growth while addressing challenges, including lack processing technology investments, availability, economic viability, policy regulations, social conflicts, anti‐nutritive substances. Alternative have considerable terms sustainability viability. By‐products from animals could be most promising near future, as they are cost‐effective, available, do not compete humans source. Insect alternatives utilization consumption. Shortfalls technology, infrastructure, targeted investments bottlenecks that must resolved to increase production.

Abstract The price of fishmeal (FM) has been increasing continuously due to the expansion gap between its stable production and rising demand. Therefore, plant protein sources are widely applied in aquaculture industry accomplish requirement farmed fish species. However, massive number results produced under various experimental conditions appended challenges for comprehensive summarization comparison effects on carnivorous Thus, a systemic review meta‐analysis were conducted compare impacts growth, feed utilization efficiencies, blood lipid, liver health representative Supported by data from 256 articles, our indicated that Atlantic salmon, African catfish, Black seabass, Hybrid striped bass better at utilizing than Grouper Japanese seabass. Cottonseed lupin proteins promising alternatives, while rapeseed showed significant growth suppression these Besides, deep processing methods such as fermentation enzymolysis alleviated undesirable consequences effectively when less half FM was replaced sources. Moreover, optimal discussed each Overall, this article depicts impact patterns major species lays solid foundation further investigation mechanisms improving utilization.

Fish meal represents the main protein source for most commercially farmed aquatic species, as it is characterized by high nutritional value and lack of anti-nutritional factors. However, its availability market price have been recognized serious problems at least over a decade, making necessary to search non-conventional sources, an alternative fish meals. This review aims comprehensively examine critically revise use all sources explored date on health, welfare, growth performance major species interesting from global scenario. The investigation revealed that inclusion levels different plant- animal-derived, ranged 10 80 % 2 100 respectively, in partial or complete replacement meal, generated positive effects performance, fillet quality. results showed above certain level inclusion, each can negatively affect metabolic activities, other biological parameters. Moreover, likely mixing combination ingredient causes synergistic effect properties. Therefore, future feed formulation expected be based blend sources. Overall, analysis highlighted need additional research field replacing meals with new given many knowledge gaps are still filled which deserve investigated.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Tenebrio molitor meal (TM) replacement for fish (FM) on growth performance, humoral immunity, and intestinal health juvenile large yellow croakers (Larimichthys crocea). Four experimental diets were formulated by replacing FM with TM at different levels-0% (TM0), 15% (TM15), 30% (TM30), 45% (TM45). Triplicate groups juveniles (initial weight = 11.80 ± 0.02 g) fed test apparent satiation two times daily eight weeks. There no significant difference in final body (FBW) gain rate (WG) among TM0, TM15, TM30, while TM45 feeding significantly reduced FBW WG. Compared AKP activity serum decreased TM45, TM15 group remarkably increased LZM activity. TM30 showed higher C3 levels compared TM0 group, addition C4 serum. In terms histology, height thickness villus also muscles significantly. The DAO D-lactate concentrations. results 16S rRNA gene sequencing that enhanced relative abundance Bacilli Lactobacillus contributed decrease Plesiomonas. addition, Peptostreptococcaceae. Overall, our indicated could be a viable alternative protein source, 6.7% supplantation (replacing FM) croaker feed improved immunity adverse growth. Furthermore, adversely affects immunity.

In recent years, the pursuit of sustainable aquaculture practices has focused on alternatives to fisheries-derived ingredients, avoid economic and environmental unsustainability. Low-trophic organisms, such as polychaetes, could be a suitable alternative fishmeal due their high protein content. This study aimed investigate feasibility replacing with polychaete meal (Alitta virens; PM) in diets for European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax; Wi, ~14.5 g). Four isoproteic (51% dry matter, DM) isolipidic (17% were fed juveniles: fishmeal-based diet (FM) three experimental PM at inclusion levels 2.5% (PM2.5), 5% (PM5), 10% (PM10), 10%, 20% 40% fishmeal, respectively. After 93 days feeding, effects growth, digestibility, nutrient utilization, plasma metabolites, liver lipogenic activity, anterior intestine histomorphology analyzed. The impact all was also assessed. All well-accepted by fish, promoted equal growth performance, ensuring feed efficiency. muscle EPA + DHA content dietary groups exceeded recommended human consumption. Hepatic lipogenesis triglyceride non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) increased fish PM2.5, suggesting that alterations lipid metabolism, especially low levels. PM2.5 seemed enhance absorption capacity increasing villus length goblet cells number/area, albeit without impacting digestibility performance. Furthermore, copper higher inclusion. assessment sustainability indicated incorporating present more option compared fishmeal. Overall, this demonstrated can serve it up 40%, compromising while guaranteeing nutritional quality fillet best performance achieved comprising (w/w) However, further research is needed understand underlying mechanisms PM's intermediary metabolism its potential functional ingredient.
