Uterine aging is an important factor that impacts fertility, reproductive health, and uterus-related diseases; however, it remains poorly explored. Functionally, these disturbances have been associated with abnormal hormonal response in the endometrium decreased endometrial receptivity. Based on emerging evidence, alterations are mediated via senescence of stem cells impaired decidualization stromal cells. Multiple molecular activities may participate uterine aging, including oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, DNA damage response, cellular senescence. Over past decade, several protective strategies targeting biological processes afforded promising results, cell therapy, anti-aging drugs, herbal medicines. However, currently available evidence fragmented scattered. Here, we summarize most recent findings regarding functional structural potential mechanisms, discuss interventions against aging. Thereby, hope to provide a comprehensive understanding pathophysiological underlying mechanisms as well improve fecundity outcomes females advanced age.

Abstract An inflammatory response is related to different mediators generated by immune and endometrial cells. The links between lipopolysaccharide (LPS), cytokines, leukotrienes (LTs) in stromal cells remain unclear. This study aimed examine the influence of LPS, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-4 IL-10 on 5-lipooxygenase (5-LO), LTA4 hydrolase (LTAH) LTC4 synthase (LTCS) mRNA protein abundances, LTB4 cysteinyl (cys)-LTs release including LTC4, cultured pig cells, as well cell viability. 24-hour exposure TNF-α, up-regulated 5-LO abundances. LPS increased LTAH abundance, while IL-1β augmented TNF-α LTCS In addition, abundance was enhanced IL-4, IL-1β. Cells responded with release. stimulated Cys-LTs IL-4. All studied cytokines summary, IL-1β, are potential LTs immunomodulatory agents These functional interactions could be one mechanisms responsible for local orchestrating events inflamed healthy endometrium.
