Ulcerative
colitis
(UC),
an
idiopathic
and
recurrent
ailment,
substantially
influences
a
patient’s
health.
Mung
bean
peptides
(MBPs)
are
bioactive
substances
derived
from
mung
protein
that
possess
notable
anti-inflammatory
properties.
However,
their
efficacy
underlying
mechanisms
in
UC
treatment
remain
unclear.
In
this
study,
the
structural
characteristics
of
MBPs
were
examined
by
determining
various
parameters,
such
as
amino
acid
composition,
molecular
weight
distribution,
peptide
sequences,
thereby
structurally
demonstrating
potential.
The
therapeutic
effectiveness
was
evaluated
assessing
its
influence
on
colon
length,
histological
damage
to
colonic
tissue,
disease
activity
index
mice
suffering
induced
dextran
sulfate
sodium
(DSS).
Additionally,
study
explored
potential
mechanism
action
analyzing
intestinal
microbiota,
inflammatory
cytokines
serum,
tight
junction
(TJ)
proteins
tissue
mice.
results
revealed
significantly
increased
reduced
damage,
decreased
with
UC.

barrier
function
upregulating
expression
ZO-1
claudin-1
within
DSS-induced
colitis,
