Digital games have gained significant attention in the field of language education. Among various educational applications, research on digital game-based vocabulary learning (DGBVL) has seen a marked increase interest and exploration. This study presents scientometric review based bibliometric data from Scopus Web Science Core databases. Using specific selection criteria, 364 studies published between 2008 2023 were identified for analysis. The findings revealed following: (a) DGBVL demonstrated considerable growth recent years, highlighting its high potential; (b) United States, Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong emerged as most prolific contributors to publications this area; (c) major clusters include learning, classroom teaching improvement, WhatsApp, augmented reality (AR), other related topics. offers valuable insights scholars researchers DGBVL, fostering further advancements field.

Abstract The present study aims to explore how pre- and in-service language teachers incorporate the cutting-edge technology of immersive virtual reality (iVR) into their teaching practice. Specifically, examined different knowledge levels experiences influenced integration by analyzing performance-based tasks in microteaching an iVR environment.
