In this paper, the levels of nine heavy metals in organs and tissues six commercially important fish species from Barguzin River (Eastern Cisbaikalia, Russia), bream Abramis brama, roach Rutilus rutilus, crucian carp Carassius carassius, common Cyprinus carpio, perch Perca fluviatilis northern pike Esox lucius, were investigated. The distribution HMs was unequal determined by both their physiological functions routes entry. study also characterized environmental habitats, including water sediments, conducted an assessment potential risks to human health associated with consumption. results showed that Fe, Zn, Cu, Ni, Cd, Pb, Cr Hg muscle tissue generally low did not exceed maximum allowable concentrations established Russia worldwide. However, Mn a number samples exceeded corresponding concentrations, which may be attributed its elevated presence habitat. calculated condition factor K good status River. highest Metal Pollution Index values recorded for scales (5.9), which, however, corresponded level contamination. other metal pollution index all below five, indicating either no or very Risk assessed using target hazard quotients index. None these indices, each studied metals, one. This indicated consumption pose excessive risk non-carcinogenic effects humans. data on content main caught organ contamination absence humans as food.

Heavy metal contamination has gradually become a very much important significant global issue due to its continual existence in the environment and bioaccumulation ecosystems, posing deleterious risks human health. This review aims investigate sources, pathways, toxicological impacts of heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, mercury, arsenic, elucidating their health consequences plausible mitigation strategies. Furthermore, explores dual origins contamination; natural geological processes anthropogenic activities industrial emissions, mining, agricultural practices. These sip into soil, water, food chains, leading bioaccumulation, bio-magnification causing risks, including cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, reproductive toxicity. Additionally, addition indigenous case studies from Nigeria, lead poisoning Zamfara State Great Kwa River Cross Rivers underscores disproportionate impact pollution developing nations. reveal socio-economic environmental dimensions issue, providing contextual understanding region-specific vulnerabilities outcomes. To address these problems, evaluates already existing strategies, chelation therapy phytoremediation, while proposing sustainable, cost-effective solutions for reducing exposure mitigating impacts. It emphasizes importance integrative approaches involving policy, community engagement, technological innovations fight effectively. In conclusion, this seminar contributes toxicity, giving showcasing insights sources implications contamination. By integrating theoretical perspectives with practical solutions, provides robust framework informing policy makers advancing sustainable management practices.

Although fish is a food that supplies nutrients of high biological value, they can also be source some harmful substances, such as heavy metals. In the same context, human activities in Caspian Sea have contaminated this ecosystem during past few years. For those reasons, our objective consisted determining concentrations metals and evaluating their bioaccumulation patterns different types musculature two species mullets commercial interest, Chelon auratus saliens, from southern coast sea. purpose, 20 C. 29 saliens were caught off coastline metal 3 muscle locations analyzed: ventral, dorsal caudal muscles each fish. The had higher Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn, whereas As, Hg Ni accumulation seemed to independent type. Overall, Hg, Pb exceeded maximum levels permitted by European Union. addition, relationships between pairs positive elevated all cases, which could sign pollution region sampled. Therefore, it will necessary continue monitoring degree Sea.

Introduction. Anthropogenic impact has affected the state of lower reaches Don River, while reducing natural reproduction commercial fish species. Currently, for conservation and species, passing semi-passing species are released into reservoir. Therefore, water quality control, including content heavy metals, Lower is especially important. Materials methods. The paper presents data from analytical testing center Azov-Black Sea branch Russian Research Institute Fisheries Oceanography. Water samples were collected at eight monitoring stations in river. Dissolved forms metals such as copper, lead, cadmium, nickel detected samples. Results. In course research, some concentrations copper found to exceed MPC. Such did not MPC throughout study. Annual seasonal trend metal also established. Limitations. limitation research this work lies fact that taken River only 8 stations, which does provide complete information on territory entire region. Conclusion. safe purposes aquaculture since no exceedances detected. However, exceeded MPC, indicates contamination reservoir, well need carry out a set measures purify facility.
