Abstract Inland recreational fisheries provide numerous socio‐economic benefits to fishers, families and communities. Recreationally harvested fish are also frequently consumed may affordable sustainable but undervalued contributions human nutrition. In aquatic animals, gut microbial communities shift with host development and living environments. Understanding the mechanism by which environment impacts of animals is crucial for assessing managing ecosystem health. Here, we proposed a simplified framework colonization dynamics communities. DNA-based taxon identification is improving the assessment and management of biodiversity in rivers. However, lack comprehensive DNA barcode reference libraries globally highly unequal coverage are still hindering application prospects this method worldwide. Here, we analyzed COI gap two libraries, Barcode Life Data Systems (BOLD) NCBI GenBank, with a focus on three aquatic animal groups (freshwater fish, insects molluscs) Chinese Our data show gaps (e.g., organisms without barcodes) ca. 40–70% taxa these BOLD or GenBank database, respectively. These can rise even further if thresholds set to contain at least five sequences per taxon. Furthermore, most barcodes from non-local samples, only 14.4% 28.8% (NCBI GenBank) were sampled China, The pairwise genetic distance local 3 5 times lower than barcodes, indicating that latter may not be good substitute. In the present research, enzyme-facilitated collagen from sea eel (Muraenesox cinereus) swim bladder was isolated, and characteristics were analyzed. Then, sponge prepared its potential mechanism in promoting skin wound healing mice further investigated. Collagen obtained of eels employing pepsin extraction technique. Single-factor experiments served as basis for response surface method (RSM) to optimize concentration, solid-liquid ratio, hydrolysis period. With a concentration 2067 U/g, ratio 1:83 g/mL, period 10 h, achieved yield 93.76%. The physicochemical analysis revealed that extracted belonged type I collagen, displayed fibrous structure under electron microscopy. Furthermore, comparison control group, treated with dressing exhibited elevated activities superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), decreased levels malondialdehyde (MDA), interleukin (IL)-1β, (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α. effectively alleviated inflammation area, facilitating efficient repair rapid tissue. During initial phase healing, group an enhancement expressions cluster differentiation (CD)31, epidermal growth (EGF), transforming (TGF)-β1, leading accelerated rate healing. addition, this could also downregulate CD31, EGF, prevent scar formation later stage. Abstract Understanding the mechanisms underlying invasion success or failure of alien species can help to predict future invasions and cope with invaders. The biotic resistance hypothesis posits that diverse communities are more resistant invasion. While many studies have examined this hypothesis, majority them focused on relationship between native richness in plant communities, results often been inconsistent. In southern China, rivers invaded by fish species, providing an opportunity test invasions. Using survey data for 60,155 freshwater collected from five main China 3 years, we assessed relationships biomass fishes at river reach spatial scales, respectively.
