Abstract Tomato peel by-products contain high levels of lycopene, which has traditionally been extracted using organic solvents. This research focuses on the optimisation a sustainable method to obtain lycopene-rich extract biodegradable anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS). A Plackett–Burman experimental design was used investigate effect seven factors extraction carotenoids from tomato peels (SDS volume and concentration, homogenisation intensity time, sonication phase, time ultracentrifugation intensity). Based responses total carotenoid extraction, SDS volume, use ultrasound significantly influenced yield were selected for Box–Wilson design. The final green protocol (1 g sample + 11.9 ml 0.3%, at 13,500 rpm 2 min, agitation 8.2 h ultracentrifugation) after quantification by UV–VIS HPLC-DAD. Finally, we nuclear magnetic resonance demonstrate lycopene purity in obtained. Furthermore, transmission electron microscopy, observed presence intact chromoplasts extract, protecting exposure external agents. Thus, this work reports an optimised demonstrates viability degradable solvent liposoluble bioactive compounds, like mainly lycopene. could be technological nutritional enrichment new foods and/or nutraceuticals.

This research aims to optimize the silk and wool dyeing process using natural dyes from Bixa orellana (annatto) through response surface methodology. Central composite design experiments highlight significant enhancement of color outcomes achieved microwave treatment. For silk, optimal conditions (80 °C for 40 min) with annatto extract yield a strength (K/S) 17.8588, while achieves K/S 7.5329. Introducing eco-friendly bio-mordants, such as pomegranate peel red sumac tannins, enhances strength. Pre-dyeing treatments 2% sumac, 1.5% peel, weld flower extracts produce high strength, values 16.4063, 16.3784, 12.1658, respectively. Post-dyeing, increase 40.1178, 17.4779, 21.6494. Wool yarn exhibits similar improvements, pre-dyeing 13.1353, 13.5060, 16.3232, escalating 10.5892, 15.3141, 23.4850 post-dyeing. Furthermore, this underscores improved colorfastness properties, including notable enhancements in light, wash, rubbing fastness both fabric yarn. These findings underscore efficacy proposed sustainable methods, offering valuable insights textile production.
