Many studies have explored the association between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and Internet addiction (IA), yet research findings on them are inconclusive. We conducted a systematic search 7 databases to identify relevant published until January 2023, analyzed from 37 across 12 countries involving 45,364 participants aged 8 67 years (51 % women). Results indicated positive correlation (r = 0.21) was found ACE IA around world, which differed among continents. It that all subtypes were significantly associated with (range r 0.16 0.25). Meta-regression showed stronger younger individuals without moderating effects of gender or publication year. In conclusion, this study sheds light significant ACEs IA, emphasizing need for targeted interventions preventive measures. Future could delve into specific aimed at mitigating impact such as cognitive-behavioral therapies metacognitive therapy interventions. Additionally, investigating cultural factors may influence provide valuable insights tailored approaches different populations. Understanding these dynamics is crucial developing effective strategies address its underlying factors.

However, the relationship between IA and ACE remains understudied in India. The present study aims to explore association of cumulative domain-wise exposure adults Delhi-NCR, cross-sectional was conducted 285 (aged 18-25 years) either sex (64.2% females) residing were screened using YIAT ACE-IQ, respectively. Differences prevalence median scores across different levels examined. Chi-square Kruskal–Wallis tests used these differences. Binary logistic regression compute odds ratio (OR). increased increasing from 0 ≥4 categories. Exposure ACE, compared no exposure, significantly 3.82-fold [OR (95% CI)=3.82 (1.49-9.74), p-value=0.005]. Further, 13 domains, only sexual abuse CI)=1.97 (1.13-3.42), p-value=0.016]. Also, though statistically not significant, being bullied 4-fold CI)=4.04 (0.86-19.05), p-value=0.077]. reveals significant high Trauma-informed intervention programs may help reduce burden
