English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) learning is essential for Chinese senior high school students, but burnout can impair their engagement and performance. Resilience, however, enhance shield them from burnout. This mixed-methods study aimed to investigate the interplay between burnout, resilience, among 413 EFL learners. Using AMOS 24, quantitative analyses with structural equation modeling (SEM) revealed reciprocity these three constructs. Specifically, was negatively associated both resilience engagement, explaining 28.6% 33.3% of shared variance respectively. Besides, were positively correlated, sharing 70.6% variance. Qualitative semi-structured interviews 15 analyzed by MAXQDA 2022, supported this specifying role each component also discusses theoretical practical implications findings suggests directions future research.

Burnout impairs English as a foreign language (EFL) learning, while engagement enhances it. However, most relevant studies have focused on college students, neglecting senior high school students. To address this gap, mixed-methods study used two scales to assess the levels of burnout and among 1234 Chinese EFL We also applied person-centered approach with statistical software (Mplus 8.7) identify their latent profiles. Then, we conducted semi-structured interviews 30 students analyzed data using thematic analysis qualitative (MAXQDA 2022) investigate antecedents engagement. The revealed three profiles: burnout-low (16.0 %), moderate burnout-moderate (61.8 low burnout-high (22.2 %). profiles were associated demographic characteristics such gender, age, grade. identified four major antecedents: academic stress support for burnout, external internal Each antecedent consisted several categories subcategories. This could inform design effective interventions reduce students' increase

Recent studies have shown the crucial role of students’ perceived English as a foreign language (EFL) teacher support in their academic learning within immediate social environments. Nevertheless, little is known about intricate links among dimensions EFL and achievement well mediating function personalities (e.g., buoyancy). To close these gaps, current study, quantitative approach was used to examine effects particular (i.e., academic, emotional, instrumental support) on educational outcomes. The buoyancy also investigated. A total 402 Chinese senior high school students who learn were invited complete questionnaires evaluate three types support. results structural equation modelling indicate that none could directly predict achievement. Students’ only indirectly affect outcomes via mediation buoyancy. This study provides teachers with tips fostering personality traits aiding progress.

Abstract Researchers have firm reason to unlock the potential of social networking technologies today because rapid development these platforms, which may be used enhance educational outcomes. Despite widespread recognition media's influence on second/foreign language learning process, few empirical research has attempted find out how Instagram feed-based tasks impact and supported self-esteem, academic buoyancy (AB), engagement (AE), achievement (LA). In order address this knowledge gap, present study investigated assignments improve AB, AE, LA for EFL students. This was accomplished by randomly assigning participants into two groups (experimental control) from a pool 93 intermediate Students in control group (CG) participated online webinars consistent basis. experimental (EG) took part webinars. Moreover, they were given based feeds. The Multivariate Analysis Variance (MANOVA) data showed that EG fared better than CG. findings underlined substantial benefits activities promoting LA. Possibilities future use task teaching arise as result study's implications students, educators, policymakers.

Abstract As smartphone addiction (SPA) among young learners grows, a consequential increase in learning burnout is observed. However, the association between SPA and burnout, especially context of foreign language (FL) learning, remains underexplored. In particular, factors that might mitigate this relationship potential variations across genders have not been sufficiently examined. Drawing upon control value theory social capital theory, study sheds light on moderating role teacher-student rapport (TSR) SPA-FL nexus, also explores gender differences. The research involved total 4,372 secondary-level students China (54.3 % boys), using student-reported data SPA, TSR, FL burnout. results revealed positive correlation learning. Furthermore, TSR played crucial relationship. Interestingly, differences were identified effect link. That is, only mitigated effects male students, but did hold true for female students. These findings theoretical pedagogical implications education.
