Introduction
Obsessive
compulsive
disorder
(OCD)
represents
a
complex
and
often
difficult
to
treat
disorder.
Pharmacological
psychotherapeutic
interventions
are
associated
with
sub-optimal
outcomes,
40–60%
of
patients
resistant
first
line
therapies
thus
left
few
treatment
options.
OCD
is
underpinned
by
aberrant
neurocircuitry
within
cortical,
striatal,
thalamic
brain
networks.
Considering
the
impairments
that
underlie
symptomology,
neurostimulation
provide
an
opportunity
modulate
psychopathology
in
personalized
manner.
Also,
probing
pathological
neural
networks,
enhanced
understanding
disease
states
can
be
obtained.

(GKRS)
is
a
minimally
invasive
technique
frequently
employed
in
neurosurgery
or
oncology,
and
it
has
applications
psychiatric
patients
as
well.
While
commonly
used
conditions
like
obsessive-compulsive
disorder,
GKRS
also
efficacy
treating
major
depression
generalized
anxiety
autism
spectrum
disorder
anorexia
nervosa.
Promising
outcomes
have
been
observed,
particularly
cases
resistant
to
conventional
treatment,
leading
significant
improvements
the
patients'
quality
of
life.
Severe
adverse
effects
from
procedures
are
rare.
To
enhance
our
understanding
utilization
psychiatry,
further
extensive
research,
especially
through
double-blinded
studies
involving
larger
cohorts,
imperative.
Determining
ideal
volume
radiation
dose
for
radiosurgical
capsulotomy
remains
key
topic
research.
When
comes
neurosurgical
procedures,
decision-making
process
should
be
personalized
each
patient,
taking
all
relevant
factors
into
consideration.
