Optogenetics has made substantial contributions to our understanding of the mechanistic underpinnings depression. This systematic review employs quantitative analysis investigate impact optogenetic stimulation in mice and rats on behavioral alterations social interaction, sucrose consumption, mobility. The analyses studies using standardized tests detect changes induced via stressed or stress-naive rats. Behavioral were evaluated as either positive, negative, not effective. comprises outcomes 248 168 described 37 articles, including negative null results. Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a safe and effective treatment option for people with refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Yet our understanding of predictors response prognostic factors remains rudimentary, long-term comprehensive follow-ups are lacking. We aim to investigate the efficacy DBS therapy OCD patients, clinical response.

Objective This review aims to investigate the progression of neuroablation, along with documented clinical efficacy and safety, in management treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).Methods We searched compiled research results neuroablation therapy reported date. extracted outcomes related efficacy, side effects, surgical complications. Additionally, we summarized key claims findings. Results Neuroablative intervention is a potential treatment approach for refractory OCD. Recent advancements, such as real-time magnetic resonance monitoring minimally invasive techniques employing ultrasound laser, offer distinct advantages terms safety comparative when compared conventional methods. However, absence randomized controlled trials long-term outcome data underscores need cautious consideration selecting neuroablation. Conclusion shows promise OCD, but vigilant essential both patient selection method choices due rare yet serious

Introduction Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) represents a complex and often difficult to treat disorder. Pharmacological psychotherapeutic interventions are associated with sub-optimal outcomes, 40–60% of patients resistant first line therapies thus left few treatment options. OCD is underpinned by aberrant neurocircuitry within cortical, striatal, thalamic brain networks. Considering the impairments that underlie symptomology, neurostimulation provide an opportunity modulate psychopathology in personalized manner. Also, probing pathological neural networks, enhanced understanding disease states can be obtained.

Gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS) is a minimally invasive technique frequently employed in neurosurgery or oncology, and it has applications psychiatric patients as well. While commonly used conditions like obsessive-compulsive disorder, GKRS also efficacy treating major depression generalized anxiety autism spectrum disorder anorexia nervosa. Promising outcomes have been observed, particularly cases resistant to conventional treatment, leading significant improvements the patients' quality of life. Severe adverse effects from procedures are rare. To enhance our understanding utilization psychiatry, further extensive research, especially through double-blinded studies involving larger cohorts, imperative. Determining ideal volume radiation dose for radiosurgical capsulotomy remains key topic research. When comes neurosurgical procedures, decision-making process should be personalized each patient, taking all relevant factors into consideration.
