Visual
methods
offer
an
innovative
approach
to
qualitative
research
through
their
potential
prompt
dialogue,
enrich
verbal
and
textual
data,
enable
participants
communicate
about
difficult
topics.
However,
the
use
of
visual
requires
that
researchers
rethink
methodological
aspects
data
generation
analysis,
especially
when
working
with
participant-generated
images.
Although
there
are
now
many
analytical
frameworks
guidebooks
providing
instructions
on
analysis
materials,
detailed
descriptions
how
these
elements
brought
together
often
missing
from
reports,
precluding
novice
other
understanding
findings
were
attained.
Our
aim
in
this
article
is
describe
illustrate
Textual-Visual
Thematic
Analysis
(TVTA),
a
framework
we
developed
collaboratively
analyze
conjunction
interaction
photo-elicitation
study.
Given
ethical
deeply
entwined,
begin
by
contextualizing
obtained
study
then
consider
confidentiality
approaches
valuing
participants'
voices.
Next,
share
TVTA
framework,
its
procedural
implementation,
insights
derived
evolving
our
approach.
We
conclude
offering
reflections
limitations
possibilities
for
future
research.

Abstract
This
chapter
provides
an
overview
of
the
options
available
for
collecting
qualitative
data
in
research
on
emerging
adulthood.
Four
main
types
are
identified:
interview
data,
observational
visual
and
public
data.
With
each
type,
a
brief
history
is
provided,
guidelines
how
to
collect
that
type
offered,
examples
from
published
adult
collected
presented.
Meta-theoretical
considerations
integral
these
methodological
decisions
also
discussed,
including
major
ontological
epistemological
assumptions
inherent
most
widely
used
traditions.
Many
other
how-to
books
articles
referenced
throughout
provide
novice
researcher
with
further
information,
elaboration,
guidelines.
The
hope
researchers

methods

helpful

step
their

passaram
todos
processos
alguns
sofreram
modificações

linguísticas

brasileira.

pertinência.
