Demand for organically grown food crops is rising substantially annually owing to their contributions human health. However, organic farm production still generally lower compared conventional farming. Nutrient availability, content consistency, uptake, assimilation, and crop responses various stresses were reported as critical yield-limiting factors in many farming systems. In recent years, plant biostimulants (BSs) have gained much interest from researchers growers, with the objective of integrating these products enhance nutrient use efficiency (NUE), performance, delivering better stress resilience organic-related This review gave an overview direct indirect mechanisms microbial non-microbial BSs enhancing physiological status, productivity, stressors, soil-microbe-plant interactions. offer a promising, innovative sustainable strategy supplement replace agrochemicals near future. With greater mechanistic clarity, designing purposeful combinations that would interact synergistically deliver desired outcomes terms acceptable yield high-quality sustainably will be pivotal. Understanding improve next generation novel well-characterized BSs, combining strategically specific synergistic bio-stimulatory action, enhanced growth, yield, quality, consistently cultivation.

The search for new, alternative and sustainable feeding sources, including insects, has become an important challenge on the feed market. In 2017, European Union (EU) started to allow use of insect meals as feeds fish. addition, in 2021, EU also authorized meal pig poultry farming. However, adoption by aquaculture sector is still limited, this mostly due lack availability insects their higher costs than conventional ingredients. Thus, insect-based industry its infancy, successful development integration food value chain depend several factors. Hermetia illucens has received a lot of attention as its larval stage can grow on organic substrates, even those that are decomposing. Black soldier fly breeding provides variety valuable products, including frass, mixture excrements, exuviae, and leftover feedstock, be used fertilizer in agriculture. Organic fertilizers, such bringing beneficial bacteria materials into the soil, improves health fertility. This comprehensive review delves comparative analysis frass derived from larvae fed different substrates. The composition micro- macro-nutrients, pH levels, matter content, electrical conductivity, moisture proportion dry under consideration. effect feeding substrates presence potentially for plant growth within is also reported. A critical feature examined this post-application impacts crops, highlighting agricultural benefits drawbacks introducing cultivation operations. One notable categorization crops studied distinct groups, which useful to simplify comparisons future research.

Fish meal represents the main protein source for most commercially farmed aquatic species, as it is characterized by high nutritional value and lack of anti-nutritional factors. However, its availability market price have been recognized serious problems at least over a decade, making necessary to search non-conventional sources, an alternative fish meals. This review aims comprehensively examine critically revise use all sources explored date on health, welfare, growth performance major species interesting from global scenario. The investigation revealed that inclusion levels different plant- animal-derived, ranged 10 80 % 2 100 respectively, in partial or complete replacement meal, generated positive effects performance, fillet quality. results showed above certain level inclusion, each can negatively affect metabolic activities, other biological parameters. Moreover, likely mixing combination ingredient causes synergistic effect properties. Therefore, future feed formulation expected be based blend sources. Overall, analysis highlighted need additional research field replacing meals with new given many knowledge gaps are still filled which deserve investigated.

Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL, Hermetia illucens (L.)) are recognized for efficient biowaste reduction while yielding valuable proteins and fats animals. However, lignocellulosic fibers in biowastes difficult to digest by larval digestive tract microorganisms as well the themselves. This study investigated two physical pretreatments (thermal, mechanical) improving BSFL processing of fibrous biowastes. Cow manure, spent grain, grass clippings were thermally pretreated at 90 °C three durations (0.5, 1 4 h). Contrary expectations, thermal pretreatment resulted either no improvement or decreased performance on all substrates, regardless treatment duration. In contrast, mechanical grain clippings, involving milling with screen sizes 2 mm) showed promising results. Specifically, bioconversion rates 0.5 mm-milled increased 0–53 % 25–44 dry mass, respectively compared untreated. Additionally, protein conversion 41 23 respectively. did not affect fiber degradation conversion, hemicellulose 25 75 respectively, particle size. Particle size influenced substrate microbial respiration (CO2 mg/min), 0.5-mm milled exhibiting higher untreated, although this effect was observed grain. highlights pretreatment's potential enhancing importance understanding properties influencing BSFL.

The purpose this review is to assess the viability freshwater as sustainable source minerals agriculture. To provide comprehensive understanding topic, over 120 studies published across diverse geographic regions with precipitations topography, were reviewed, focus on different species methodologies. Key findings show that anthropogenic introductions exotic pose significant ecological risks due their rapid growth new habitats, which can disrupt local ecosystems. However, biomass derived from these plants has wide range applications, including animal feed, biofuel, ceramics, well biological markers environmental remediators. Furthermore, fresh tissues, dried matter, manure, ensilage, biochar are examples in-situ applications have shown major benefits agricultural practices. These promote healthy plant growth, raise crop yields, lessen need chemical fertilizers, decrease disease rates. covers organisms' ability produce antibacterial compounds, remove heavy metals other pollutants soil water, enhance quality biodiversity general. results collectively highlight significance fostering balance resource efficiency, potential support environmentally friendly farming methods conservation.
