one

the

regulatory
character.
It
engaged
a
vast
array

nociception,
mood
regulation,
cognitive
functions,
neurogenesis
and
neuroprotection,
appetite,
lipid
metabolism,
as

cell

proliferation.
Thus,
ECS
proteins,
cannabinoid
receptors

endogenous
ligands’
synthesizing
degrading
enzymes,
are
promising
therapeutic
targets.
Their
modulation
has
been
employed
or
extensively
studied
