While sure solution made things easier, also led bigger gender gap work-family balance issues which put pressure women their career development. Cyberchondria now replaces hypochondria, efficiency education hits peak but we effectiveness solutions found were appropriate best for diverse situations, they outlined problems overtook advantages. We need develop adapt must not forget about what technology cannot yet replace: emotion, empathy, warmth all keeps us mentally healthy wealthy.

This systematic review summarizes empirical evidence on risky decision-making (objective risk and ambiguity) in specific domains of problematic use the internet (PUI) focusing online addictive behaviors. We conducted a pre-registered (PROSPERO: CRD42020188452) PubMed search for PUI domains: gaming, social-network use, buying-shopping, pornography unspecified PUI. used Newcastle-Ottawa Scale quality assessment. Relevant studies were identified only gaming (n=19), (n=8), (n=7), gambling (n=1). The meta-analyses included 25 (2,498 participants) comparing control groups regarding performance under objective ambiguity. Across domains, individuals with compared to participants showed more disadvantageous measures (g=-0.42 [-0.69, -0.16], p=.002) but not ambiguity (g=-0.22 [-0.47, -0.04], p=.096). domain gender significant moderators. In domain, effects particularly present disorder, especially exclusively male samples. When other covariates controlled, it found that significantly contributed (b 0.58, 95%CI [0.56, 0.60], p < .001). The model suggested both alexithymia distress mediating factors higher perceived greater cyberchondria, suggests reducing about providing adequate support could reduce incidence As may be transdiagnostic mechanisms targeted interventions expression dysregulation emotional identification useful.
