A 45-year-old man who had received his second mRNA COVID-19 vaccination one week earlier was presented to the emergency department with chest discomfort. Therefore, we suspected post-vaccination myocarditis; however, patient showed no signs of myocarditis. After 2 weeks, he revisited hospital complaining palpitations, hand tremors, and weight loss. The exhibited high free thyroxine (FT4) (6.42 ng/dL), low thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) (<0.01 μIU/mL), TSH receptor antibody (17.5 IU/L) levels, diagnosed Graves' disease. Thiamazole administered, patient's FT4 levels normalized after 30 days. One year later, is stable; their antibodies have not become negative thiamazole has continued. This first case report follow course disease vaccination.

The newly developed COVID-19 vaccines have established a safe profile, yet some individuals experience wide range of adverse events. Recently, thyroid dysfunction, including Graves' disease, has been observed after administration different vaccines, although causality remains matter debate. aim this systematic review was to examine the available literature and provide an overview reported cases disease following vaccination. We identified 21 eligible articles which included 57 patients with Fourteen participants were males (25%, 14/57) 43 (75%, 44/57) females mean age 44.3 years. most common presenting symptom palpitations (63%, 27/43) followed by weight loss (35%, 15/43). majority received thionamides (47%, 25/53). clinical status treatment provided for 37 it improved in them (84%, 31/37). is possibly condition clinicians may expect encounter receiving vaccines. While above event rare, considering scarcity data scientific literature, not confirmed, increased awareness early recognition disorder are important optimal management these patients.

(1) Background: Autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune endocrine diseases (AIED), are thought to develop following environmental exposure in patients with genetic predisposition. The vaccines against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) could represent a new trigger for AIED, Graves’ disease (GD). (2) Methods: We performed literature search of MEDLINE/PubMed databases regarding thyroid dysfunction after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination since 1 January 2020 31 July 2022, considering only cases thyrotoxicosis that meet the 2016 American Thyroid Association guidelines criteria diagnosis GD and arising administration anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, regardless number doses. (3) Results: A total 27 articles were identified, consisting case reports or series, which 24 describe appearance 48 diagnoses 12 recurrences 3 papers instead report relapse vaccination. (4) Conclusions: physicians should be aware possibility developing other sequelae Regardless underlying pathogenetic mechanisms (autoimmune/inflammatory induced by adjuvants (ASIA syndrome), cytokines induction, molecular mimicry, cross-reactivity), an individual predisposition seems decisive their development.
