This review article describes studies published over the past five years on combination of polyphenols, which are most studied in field anticancer effects (curcumin, quercetin, resveratrol, epigallocatechin gallate, and apigenin) chemotherapeutics such as cisplatin, 5-fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, paclitaxel, etc. According to WHO data, research has been limited cancers with highest morbidity rate (lung, colorectal, liver, gastric, breast cancer). A systematic articles (from January 2018 2023) was carried out help all Web Science databases available base clinical studies. Based preclinical presented this review, polyphenols can enhance drug efficacy reduce chemoresistance through different molecular mechanisms. Considering large number studies, curcumin could be a molecule future chemotherapy cocktails. One main problems is related bioavailability polyphenols. The design new co-delivery system for drugs essential research. Some work synergy chemotherapeutic drugs, but some act antagonistically, so caution always required.

Inflammation is an integral part of autoimmune diseases, which are caused by dysregulation the immune system. This involves imbalance between pro-inflammatory versus anti-inflammatory mediators. These mediators include various cytokines and chemokines; defined subsets T helper/T regulatory cells, M1/M2 macrophages, activating/tolerogenic dendritic antibody-producing/regulatory B cells. Despite availability many anti-inflammatory/immunomodulatory drugs, severe adverse reactions associated with their long-term use often high costs impediments in effectively controlling disease process. Accordingly, suitable alternatives being sought for these conventional drugs. Natural products offer promising adjuncts/alternatives this regard. The specific compounds isolated from dietary/medicinal plant extracts have permitted rigorous studies on disease-modulating activities mechanisms involved therein. Here, we describe basic characteristics, action, preventive/therapeutic applications 5 well-characterized natural product (Resveratrol, Curcumin, Boswellic acids, Epigallocatechin-3-gallate, Triptolide). been tested extensively animal models autoimmunity as well limited clinical trials patients having corresponding diseases. We focused our description predominantly cell-mediated such rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Type 1 diabetes, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis.

Phytochemical nanoencapsulation for nutrient delivery and edible coatings perishable food preservation are two emerging technologies. Leveraging the strong antimicrobial function of phytochemical nutrients, we propose convergent research to integrate technologies by embedding phytochemical-encapsulated nanoparticles in an coating on fresh fruits achieve multiple functions. In particular, report study strawberries that is composited trans-resveratrol (R)-encapsulated (RNPs) embedded a chitosan (CS) matrix. The biodegradable biocompatible RNPs significantly increased aqueous solubility R 150-fold bioavailability 3.5-fold after oral administration. Our results demonstrated abilities RNP-embedded CS diminish dehydration, prevent loss, inhibit microbe growth, increase nutraceutical value, preserve strawberry quality, extend shelf life during storage at both 22 4 °C. Such nanoencapsulation-based promising dual purposes enhancing preserving foods.

Stilbenes are phytoalexins, and their biosynthesis can occur through a natural route (shikimate precursor) or an alternative (in microorganism cultures). The latter is metabolic engineering strategy to enhance production due stilbenes recognized pharmacological medicinal potential. It believed that in the human body, these potential activities be modulated by regulation of nuclear factor erythroid derived 2 (Nrf2), which increases expression antioxidant enzymes. Given this, our review aims critically analyze evidence regarding E-stilbenes metabolism Nrf2 activation pathway, with emphasis on inflammatory oxidative stress aspects related pathophysiology chronic diseases. In this comprehensive literature review, it observed despite broad number stilbenes, those most frequently explored clinical trials preclinical studies vitro vivo) were resveratrol, piceatannol, pterostilbene, polydatin, stilbestrol, pinosylvin. some cases, depending dose/concentration chemical nature stilbene, was possible identify pathway. Overcoming the limited bioavailability and extensive metabolism of effective in vitro drugs remains a challenge that limits translation promising into clinical trials. Resveratrol, despite its well-reported therapeutic benefits, is not metabolically stable thus has been utilized as an drug. This because it needs to be consumed large amounts overcome burdens conversion less metabolites. Herein, we summarize more relevant approaches modify resveratrol, aiming increase biological efficacy. We discuss combination therapies, derivatization, use resveratrol nanoparticles. Interestingly, with established chemotherapeutic shown effects on colon cancer (with oxaliplatin), liver cisplatin, 5-FU), gastric doxorubicin). On other hand, derivatizing including hydroxylation, amination, amidation, imidation, methoxylation, prenylation, halogenation, glycosylation, oligomerization, differentially modifies could used for preferential outcomes. Abstract Skin photoaging is mostly caused by ultraviolet A (UVA), although active medications to effectively counteract UVA-induced have not yet been created. Resveratrol, a naturally occurring polyphenol found in the skin of grapes, has shown various biological functions such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant characteristics. However, role resveratrol clarified. We investigated mechanism action UVA irradiation human fibroblasts (HSF) innovatively modified mouse model photoaging. The results demonstrated that promoted AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) phosphorylation activate autophagy, reduce reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, inhibit apoptosis, restore normal cell cycle alleviate In addition, subcutaneous injection only improved symptoms roughness, erythema, increased wrinkles photodamaged mice, but also alleviated epidermal hyperkeratosis hyperpigmentation, reduced inflammatory responses, inhibited collagen fiber degradation. conclusion, our studies proved can treat elucidated possible molecular mechanisms involved, providing new therapeutic strategy for future anti-aging.
